Hooping Idol 5: It’s Our Season Finale!

Hooping Idol 3 Finale FEAT

Welcome to the season finale of Hooping Idol 5! It’s our sixth exciting week in our quest to find the planet’s next great hooper star and the stakes have never been higher. Our three remaining finalists have all spun up something amazing for you and your votes and it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – the Hooping Idol 5 Season Finale!

For those just tuning in, we put out the Season 5 Casting Call, introduced you to our 21 contestants and our special guest celebrity judges. Then we kicked things off spinning our way back to the early 1980’s for New Wave Week. In our New Wave Week Results Show, six were eliminated. Next up came Disney Week and 5 more were sent home. After that we had a great time with Pop Music Week and thanks to a tie only 2 more were eliminated. Then came Science Fiction Week which resulted in 3 more contenders were eliminated, followed by Performance Week and 2 more were eliminated.

Our final three had one last video to make and their Finale Week entry was entirely up to them. After all, if they’re going for the title and a shot at winning our Ultimate Hooping Idol 5 Prize Package, they should be doing so at this point entirely on their own inspiration. There was no theme for this week, nothing to guide them or restrain them. We couldn’t be more proud of all of three our contestants and wish each of them the best of luck.

A great big thank you to all of those in our community who have so generously donated prizes for this season, and to all of our judges for taking time out of their hectic schedules to share their thoughts with all of us this week.

There were no constraints or requirements for Finale Week, giving our finalists free reign to spin it up just as they wished. After all, with a prize package like that on the line we didn’t want anything standing in their way. So, is everybody ready? Here we go for one last round! We proudly present our final three contenders, presented in an order that was randomly drawn out of a hat.

Hooping Idol 5: Performance Week Results Show

Performance Week 5 copy The results of Hooping Idol 5’s Performance Week are here. Hooping.org congratulates all three contenders that are moving on to our season finale next week and we whole heartedly celebrate those who are departing the competition here. Who will be leaving us following Performance Week and who will be moving forward to spin it up for a shot at the title and our Ultimate Hooping Idol 5 Prize Package? It’s time to find out. Hooping.org’s Philo Hagen hosts our Hooping Idol 5 Performance Week Results Show.

You’re all invited to share the love with the two that are heading home this week. It has been a total blast having both of them be a part of the competition this season and we wish them both nothing but the absolute best there is in all their hoopenings to come. So without any further ado, here’s Philo!

Performance Week 5

It’s Week 5 of our 5th exciting season of Hooping Idol and we’re down to our 5 fantastic finalists in our search for the next big hooper star. Welcome to Performance Week on Hooping Idol 5!

And last week as Science Fiction Week which resulted in 3 more contenders were eliminated.

dj-noodles-1 For Performance Week on Hooping Idol 5, our five finalist will all be hooping to the same exact soundtrack and will all be sharing a single-shot unedited video of their performance. The challenge this week: perform in front of real live human beings, not just in front of a video camera. They needed to find an audience of at least ten people to perform in front of or create one of their own – and to put a little extra spin on the reality of performing professionally, our finalists were told that they were hired to perform at a big Spring Break celebration party in Miami Beach with DJ Noodles. Using his new single Burn, their performances were to be filmed from the perspective that the video camera was just another audience member, preferably one with a front row seat, so that whatever takes place can be seen by all of us just as if we were sitting there too. Our final five were given extra performance tips behind the scenes and now they’re ready to take the stage and the stakes have never been higher! At the end of Performance Week two will be leaving and three will be heading to Hooping Idol 5’s season finale!

Hooping Idol 5: Science Fiction Week Results Show

Science Fiction Week Results Show The results of Hooping Idol 5: Science Fiction Week are in. Hooping Idol 5: It’s Science Fiction Week!

sciencefictionweek It’s Week 4 of our 5th exciting season of Hooping Idol and we’re down to 8 amazing finalists in our search for the next big hooper star. Welcome to Science Fiction Week on Hooping Idol 5, and with a theme like Science Fiction Week it’s pretty exciting!

The term “Science Fiction” deals with imaginative content such as futuristic settings, futuristic science and technology, space travel, time travel, faster than light travel, parallel universes and extraterrestrial life. As we said last week, “While their skills and creativity have allowed each of them to make it this far, it’s time for them to really develop a good story for us too. With Science Fiction Week anything is possible, and we’re expecting the unexpected. Think outside the box. Put calls out for support if you need it. Let your imaginations run wild. Spin up a hooping tale like none we’ve seen before.” They were reminded of our Ten Easy Ways to Improve Your Hooping Video, and they were reminded to bring it – because at the end of Science Fiction Week, three more of them will be going home.

Hooping Idol 5: It’s Pop Music Week!

Hooping Idol 5 Spins Pop Music Week It’s Week 3 of our 5th exciting season of Hooping Idol and the competition is super tight in our search for the next big hooper star. Welcome to Pop Music Week on Hooping Idol 5!

For those just tuning in, we put out the Season 5 Casting Call, introduced you to our 21 contestants and our special guest celebrity judges, then kicked things off spinning our way back to the early 1980’s for New Wave Week. In our New Wave Week Results Show, six were eliminated. Next came Disney Week and 5 more were sent home.

The term “Pop Music” was originally derived as an abbreviation for “popular” though it has come to mean something a little more specific these days, even if the genre in and of itself can be extremely eclectic. What will our Idols spin up this week for a shot at making their way one step closer to the title of Hooping Idol and our Ultimate Hooping Idol Prize Package? All we can really say is you’re in for a treat, because everybody takes a step up this week and knocks it right out of the ballpark. Our Top Ten contenders have all been schooled on Ten Easy Ways to Improve Your Hooping Video, were told to think outside the box and let their imaginations run wild, and they were reminded to bring it – because at the end of Pop Music Week, three more of them will be going home.

We started off seven weeks ago when we met our 21 contenders who all spun up something amazing for Hip Hop Week and six were eliminated. They all spun things up with jet set style for High Society Week and even though three were to be eliminated, only two were sent home as the result of a tie. Then came Musicals Week for the remaining eight and three were eliminated, leaving us with five fantastic finalists for Performance Week. Two more made their exits, which brought us to our season finale with our final three!

Hooping Idol 4: High Society Week

hoopingidol4week3 Welcome to High Society Week on Hooping Idol 4! It’s our super exciting third week in our quest to find the planet’s next great hooper star. After all, we want our Hooping Idol to be able to score gigs at fancy cultural events and roll with the rich and famous if they need to. Our Top Ten competitors were allowed to choose any soundtrack that they wished this week and were reminded once again of our Ten Easy Ways to Improve Your Hooping Video. *****

1. Lisa Ellipse of London, England, UK. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: Lisa, once again I really enjoyed your video submission this week. There are so many fairy tale elements to the video and I really like the Alice through the Looking Glass feel of it, very English High Society. You have such an attractive personality and pull off some elegant hooping. Damm those muggles sneaking in again, so briefly there in the background. That said I think that is my only complaint because you told a great story with fantastic hooping which was edited exquisitely. Score: 8.5.

Lisa: You Nailed the brief Lisa! Love the story and also really liked your voyeuristic camera angle! Bonus points for using such a pretty hoop too. I’m happy you decided to take it outside though to give yourself a little bit more space or you would have smashed all that pretty china (i so would have)! Beautiful hooping, beautiful styling, I’m happy! Score: 8.

Stefan: Amazing choice of location. I love the idea of bringing some color and glamour into your life with the hoop. Great color matching and your location choice is the best I saw this week. I like the evocative shadow shots. You really hit a home run with this one. Score: 9.5.

Ayumi: How mellow did you look hooping in the mirror? I felt the intense strings synchronized with the passion inside you. The shot from the outside of the window is great. Nice hoop color choice. It was well suited to your luxury outfits. The scene of 2’27”-3’17” was so very impressive I could hear the sound of the strings even after watching. Score: 8.

Katie: I thought you did a great job with the storyline this week. I loved the editing with the mirror image and I thought you were entirely stunning in the long, green, one-shoulder dress. Your hooping was gorgeous and I loved the sustained spinning, very appropriate for the theme. Some of the handheld camera work was still a bit shaky, but that’s the only piece of criticism I have. The length was perfect, and overall, this was a wonderful video. Score: 8.

*****

2. Sara “Violet Ponderosa” Harrison of Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: I really loved your entry this week Violet. You look confident and radiate joy and fully utilised your body. There are some great edits as well as some superb funky personality shining through as you wiggled away. I wasn’t so keen on the close up that cut off the bottom of your body, there was a lot of sky and I felt that it would have been better to see you. Apart from those closing scenes this was a super effort and my favourite video of you so far. I loved the triple hooping, it felt so natural. Score: 8.5.

Lisa: I was wondering when someone was going to use this song! My favorite moment in your video is at 0.50 when your hat roll turns into a hoop roll, nice work! This is a nice video and its short and punchy, which I like very much. I feel like maybe I wanted your hair up in that white dress though, it would have looked just that little bit more posh. All in all I enjoyed this and I feel like you got the brief down. Nice, but pretty safe hooping. Would like to see a bit more next time! Score: 7.5.

Stefan: Beautiful framing and extraordinary hooping. Great bit throwing the hoop in one scene and catching it in another. I like the process of you becoming a tramp, but I don’t know why this is happening? What is driving your character in this piece? I am left wondering. Score: 7.

Ayumi: Nice music choice. The transition from hat eagle to hoop eagle roll is great. If you had make-up and hair in more perfect order at first then you began to dishevel your hair, I think it could have been more effective. And I guess you shoud have had a more creative idea at the ending. This video started conceptually, but ended like it was unfinished. I would like to see a more clear story. Score: 6.

Katie: Loved this week’s entry! The hat roll into hooping roll was awesome! And I thought your choice of song was perfect for this weeks theme with your hooping style. You’re fun, carefree, and I bet you also like the free, fresh wind in your hair. I loved your hip wiggles at 1:20 and you looked beautiful in that white, satin dress. Great video! Score: 8.

*****

3. Jenny Marie of Atlantic Beach, Florida, USA.If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: I was in stitches at the start of this video Jenny, once again you play the clown and the funny card so well. When I am watching a lot of videos, the funny ones seem to stick in my mind. The elderly persons home scene was epic. I guess I have gotten used to the humour from you and was a little upset until the tears of emotion audience clip you used. This was very clever. I would have liked to have seen some multi-hooping, not to show off skill but to break up the visual and make it more interesting. However, it was lovely to see your free expressive personality and you danced beautifully in your red dress. Score: 7.5.

Lisa: Hey Jenny, great work this week, you really made me smile! I LOVE that you got the whole family involved, hilarious!! You gave me exactly what I wanted to see, a short and punchy video where I can connect with you and where you’re really getting through to me. Great energy, a very funny storyline and I love the emotional audience shot!! I think technically you can add a lot more things into your hooping next time, but the most important part is that you had me during your video, good stuff. Score: 8.

Stefan: Great start. I laughed out loud when you knocked over the sheet music, however, what happened to the story after that? All of a sudden you are on a beach and then you are discovered? All great storylines, but missed how they fit together? Your skills are great and you really sold your performance. I just needed something to tie it all together. Score: 8.

Ayumi: 50’s style red dress! Yay! I really like your sense of fashion as usual. Old school inks on your skin and the elegant dress remind me of
the pin-up girls I love. Where did you get these excellent actors? I
think all the elements in this video is what you are. I was really excited
by the scene on the seashore. I felt that something wonderful would happen. I hope I can see you on stage on Broadway someday. Score: 9.

Katie: Jenny, you always manage to give me a smile and laugh no matter what the theme! I loved the beginning with your captive audience politely listening to your polished piano recital. And the cut away to the guy weeping at the sight of your hoop performance literally (and I don’t mean figuratively) made me LOL! If I did make a criticism, I would say that this weeks performance lacked some of the energy I have seen from you in this competition, but I do understand the theme makes that a challenge. I loved your red dress and the way it twirled and flowed with your movements and I absolutely loved the song! I may have to steal that for one of my hoop videos! Score: 8.

*****

4. Sheri Alice O’Brian of New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: Once again a beautifully skilled video full of your smiling personality. I wasn’t so sure about the glamour quality of the shoulder hooping and the nooping section, but then I guess high society types are quite snooty, with upturned noses, so I will let you off. Your hooping skills are off the wall, but the further along we go in this competition the more important it is to get the editing perfect and there was some sound overlay problems at the end. I loved the colour change scene, it made me feel all gooey inside. Score: 8.5.

Lisa: Hey Sheri Alice, you always look so happy when you are hooping and I love to see that! Great work on some of those moves, I love that two hoop isolation with the third one over your body. Have you ever tried hooping on your knees with both feet glued to eachother? When you press your legs into eachother and move the hoop with two knees at the same time, you will be so much more in control, I promise! Great colours and camera angles again from you this week, though I am not sure how you manage to do so much hand work with all those wristbands! For you also the same critique as I have given a few others this week. If you are going to repeat your moves, give me a shorter video. I’d rather see you do it once and leave me amazed! Score: 8.5.

Stefan: This unfortunately seems like a bit of a stretch for you. Yes your hoops skills are super slick, but dear, ain’t nothing glamorous about a cigarette or a country fence and open toe sandals. I did like the bed shot, good job for thinking about framing and the makeup application was a good touch, but dear, there was no character development and at this point in the competition I do expect a bit more creativity from you. Score: 6.

Ayumi: You are a mad skilled hooper as I mentioned before. No doubt about it. This is very nice and it was effective as your PV, but I think there was little atmosphere of High Society. I would like to see you in a different mood you haven’t shown to us before. Score: 6.

Katie: You never dissappoint with your hooping skills! I love seeing each week what you’re going to do to make my jaw drop. This week, I loved your work with the blue minis. Not only were you performing some insanely difficult tricks with ease, but you were smiling and connecting with the audience at the same time. However, I would have liked to see more done with the theme in your staging and setting. The white sun dress, green pasture, and old wooden fence didn’t exactly seem high society or glamorous to me. It seemed more like good ‘ol country hoopin’. I thought your setting in the white tent with the color filters was appropriate and lovely, and I think you should have used that backdrop more. Also, I liked the allusions to Marilyn, but you could have done up your hair to look more like her signature, high society style. Your long, beachy locks, although gorgeous, didn’t seem to fit with the theme. Score: 7.

5. Heather Gregoire of Madison, Wisconsin, USA. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: This is by far my most favorite video from you so far. The story is funny and touching and you are engaging and beautiful to watch. I loved how you created different moods with costume and you used editing skilfully. You totally engage the audience with your full use of your body. I did notice a couple of muggles in the background though. Apart from that I really enjoyed your entry this week. Score 8.5.

Lisa: Hey Heather, what a great intro, and that blue dress is definitely perfect! You’ve got great camera angles happening in this video. I can see your face as well as all of your body moving and you have such fantastic hoop skills, it’s hard to take my eyes off you! One thing I think can really benefit your hooping is extensions, have you ever done any basic ballet? I think you might have some really nice lines in your body, but it’s hard to tell cause you are not really using them. I would love to see more straight posture, extended arms and fingers too and a nice long neck. I tell a lot of hoopers to go and seek out beginners adult ballet classes even if the only thing they will learn from it is to straighten their legs! It would add just this extra dimension to your already great hooping. Score: 8.5.

Stefan: WOW! Laying down the gauntlet. Showing the character transformation and storyline right off the bat, well done! It really allowed me to enjoy your hooping once the music hit because you had laid down the story already. Great locations for “High Society”. If I could add anything I would have written a bit of a twist or a story ending to round out the video. Score: 9.

Ayumi: Gorgeous dress! I love your outfits. The blue dress and the orange hoop look very good on you. I think it might be better if you would
put on more makeup after you dressed up too. Anyway, your flow is awesome as
usual. Especially the smear with the skirt fluttering was very impressive. Score: 7.

Katie: Wonderful job making a clear and entertaining storyline this week! I loved your transition from rave hooper to high society hooper. And the Madame Lee character cracked me up with her tight bun and permanent scowl. I really feel that this weeks theme was right up you alley with your style of flow and movement and your dance background. I do feel like I’m seeing the same tricks from you week after week and would like to see you introduce something new (I know that’s a tall order!). Other than that, your smile was great, your obviously listening to the advice of the judges, and I really appreciate that. Score: 7.

6. Emilie Joy Rowell of Brighton, England, UK. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: Wonderful Idea Emilie, I loved how you had the two distinct styles in a hoop off, the high society girl with gold hoops and the poorer girl with blue hoops. There were a couple of times when both hoopers were hooping and this was a bit too much for me as I wanted to watch both, as both were equally interesting to watch. I loved the direct gaze of the hoopers as well as the close up of the different hands. The hooping fit with the music perfectly and I loved the ending also. Great entry. Score: 8.5.

Lisa: Hey Emilie, I’m not really sure how I feel about yours this week. On one hand I like the closeups cause they’re very high quality and I can see your face, but then I found myself wanting to see what you were doing with the hoop, and then I found a lot of the long shot hooping a little boring. One thing I really love about you is your feet, keep doing that! I sense you were also a little tired this week and I encourage you to up the energy next time! If you’re really struggling with a video concept remember that I would much rather see one minute of the best hooping ever than a four minute story with the same moves over and over. Score: 6.5.

Stefan: WONDERFUL concept. Great storytelling. Each character had their own set of moves that really spoke to who they are. All that was AMAZING, but what really got me was the cutaways. Way to cut to the song. The twist at the end was fun, but incomplete (we don’t know why the rich girl doesn’t care). Score: 9.5.

Ayumi: It was interesting as a movie. But I paid more attention to editing and what happened next than to your hooping. The concept is nice
and I like the song. Score: 6.

Katie: I loved the idea of having a hoop off with yourself! Very fun to watch. As always, your attitude and expressions are what make your videos so much fun to watch. I didn’t sense as much enthusiasm this round, however. Regardless, you’re still a brilliant and inspiring hooper and I want to see what you come up with next! Score: 7.

7. Flavie Steelandt of Ulm, Germany. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: Ahh, Flavie, your creativity makes my heart melt. So many beautiful scenes and costumes. I know it is almost impossible not to have people in the background in public spaces, but I was most distracted when you were on the scaffolding. The use of the hat was awesome, especially the hat toss that turned into a hoop and the hat passing through the hoop into hoop was a beautiful idea. In fact all the props were great including the dog and the doll and even the wine glass. Score: 8.5.

Lisa: I love how your idea of high society is Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Flavie! You’ve put a lot of energy into your costume and into what you want to project, but I feel the content of this video lets you down a bit. The hooping isn’t exciting me. Apart from your lying down-back-throw to foot-catch, I feel like I have seen all this from you and now I want to see more! It’s great to have a fun video concept, but it’s a hooping competition after all. I want to see you take risks here! Score: 6.5.

Stefan: I love the locations, the props, the drag! THE DRAG! Well done, you sold it! Your dog, duck and daughter were hilarious. I’m so happy you found your perfect match. I would have liked to see a bit more courting, but otherwise, stellar! Your tricks accented the story and really pushed along the narrative. Well done! Score: 9.5.

Ayumi: How Sweet! A mustache! The ribboned hoop looks like the sun. And you in the orange dress are gorgeous as an Italian actress. Hat toss to
chest roll! Nice editing. I expected it, but it had high visual effect and was very fun. I really enjoyed your various moves. Especially I loved your walking while elbow hooping with the hat. Score: 9.

Katie: I thought this was your best video yet. The video quality looked great, you smiled and interacted with the camera, and the tricks you performed were the most advanced I’ve seen from you. Bravo! I liked the silent movie theme that ran throughout and you’re always great at coming up with a sweet storyline. At 2:36 It seems like the camera was bumped or moved, so be sure you start editing out even those little mistakes at this point in the competition. Other than that, wonderful video. Score: 7.

8. Esmeralda Garcia of Hermosillo, Sonora, México. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: So exquisite and beautifully lit this week Esmeralda. I enjoyed the story, but found the pace of the music challenging. Your expressive hooping was stunning and I particularly enjoyed the floor section. I think it would have been good to mix up the hoop style a little. As the competition is moving on it would be good to see more creative multi hooping from you, even if it is only a short bit. Overall though a great story with your steller personality shining through. Score: 7.5.

Lisa: Once again, what great commitment in your video making! I love the fact that you have a cello player and a bodyguard! I really enjoyed your story but still, after 3 minutes, I get bored! It was too long for me as my attention span only runs this far nowadays. What I need to see from you is a gradual build up in energy, otherwise I’m fading! So either a music change, faster paced hooping, more difficult tricks as we progress through the video or something else that’s gonna make me watch past the 3 minute mark. More energy!! Score: 7.

Stefan: Beautiful choice and song and a beautiful performance Esmeralda. I really enjoyed watching it. I wanted the storylines to converge a bit more but, I really liked the sweet simple beauty of the performance. Great job. Score: 8.

Ayumi: Nice music choice. I love the contrast between a little bit
melancholic lighting and your beautiful smile. I was fascinated with your expression and flow. If you would have shot the scene in the black dress with a wider angle, it would have been better. Score: 8.

Katie: You hooping this week was absolutely exquisite. You obviously have professional dance training because you move so fluidly and gracefully. However, I wasn’t so clear on the storyline this time around. I could tell you were the professional lady with the bodyguard, and were you also the girl playing the cello? I didn’t really see all of it tie together in the end and I was confused. Also, your video was a little long, so I think some of the non-hooping scenes could have been shortened or cut altogether to make it more focused. With that said, I was really impressed with your foot hooping, that was really beautiful! Score: 6.

9. Alexandria Truex of Portland, Oregon, USA. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: A lovely story Alex, with some stunning effects such as the coiled section of hoop and the slo mo dandelion flower scene. You did seem to have problems with your production in places, which is really unfortunate at this stage of the competition. For example the colours, exposure, saturation and resolution, particularly the white balance, are very strenuous on the eyes from time to time. I love the character of the woman in the white dress and I empathised with her. Score: 7.5.

Lisa: I really liked the opening scene actually, Alex! I know you’re supposed to look posh, but at the same time it looked to me like you were in a mental institution. It made me giggle, but as I looked at the video length I already knew it was going to be too long. 3.. 3.5 minutes is enough!! and I do indeed feel a little bored as I am watching. I really like your twin hooping, but then the camera is so shaky and full of effects that I can hardly see what you’re doing. I quite like the coil you’re using as a hoop. I couldn’t work it out at first! I think this video could have really benefitted from a music change and a change of pace after your intro scene. Score: 6.

Stefan: Ok, fun concept, a hoop is your escape from High Society and it is what your suitor really finds attractive. I really liked the storytelling. It was a tad long, but correctly paced for the piece of music that you picked. It didn’t blow me away, but it was a solid piece. 7.

Ayumi: I think you might have tried to make some kind of painting of the impressionists. You succeed in a certain aspect, but the resolution
was very low so it was too hard to keep watching. The combination of a
red hoop and a white dress was very nice. The shot from the high angle was
really great. You have great skills (especially multiple hooping!), but the camera work spoiled your graceful flow. Score: 6.

Katie: This week’s theme was definitely a challenge and it seems like you may have struggled with it. I really enjoyed the beginning with you at the finishing school and the footage of you at the 3:40 mark was gorgeous! I loved the contrast between the bright red hoop and your white dress. However, parts of the video were out of focus, you were really far away in a couple of shots, and the camera work was shaky. Although your hooping was beautiful, as always, I was disappointed to see some of those fundamental editing errors. I did love your work with three hoops at the 4:29 mark, that was beautiful. Score: 6.

10. Lisa “SparkGirl” Disinger of Pahoa, Hawaii, USA. If for some reason the video isn’t viewable where you live or on your device you can try watching it on Vimeo.

Sharna: Lisa, from the moment the video started, as the music kicked in and we were presented with the beautiful shot of your face, I knew it was going to be a great video. I love that you are utilising hooping styles that are fresh for you in this video. It is exactly the sort of creativity that I would love from my Hooping Idol, continually evolving and inspiring me. I love the cake reference, very Marie Antoinette. I did like the hooping that you did in front of the rusty car, but not so keen on that backdrop. The house was posh, but the car was quite random. Over all though you are truly beautiful and this was a great video. Score: 9.

Lisa: HAHAHA you made me laugh so much. Some of this was so random, but so funny! I love how in rock week you have a friend with a huge motorbike and now you have one with a limo, brilliant! also, that CAKE! I want to do that! I’m so glad I got to see some more multi-hooping from you this week! I love the 4 split where you stand in arabesque! In general I think you have some really nice and original moves and a really fun style. That 3 hoop shape hold in the beginning though, you hold it for too long! Crack in with it and into some of those lovely separations, you go! Score: 8.5.

Stefan: The thing that makes this video work so well is the juxtapositions you are presenting. The props are fun, the song is well tweaked and hooped to. The thing that doesn’t make it work is the lack of character development. I didn’t see the juxtaposition telling us anything about your character or you for that fact. Score: 7.

Ayumi: Nice little black dress! But the rain seemed to spoil your beauty. If you insisted to use the scene in the rain, you should have been more careful about lightning. Wow, a pair of metallic purple boots! I want
them! It was very photogenic that you hooped like a tomboy in front of a
limousine and a shack. So nice. Score: 7.

Katie: Once again, you’re living up to your namesake, you definitely have spark! I was really interested to see what your entry would look like this week and I can see now that you took the high society theme to heart in the beginning, but you just had to make it true to yourself by the end! I thought your sustained spinning was beautiful at the beginning, but I felt like I was watching the same trick for the first minute and a half of your video, which was nearly half the video. However, you then launched into the second half with that awesome double-hoop-wedgie-walk which was awesome! I am totally going to steal that move, by the way. I love that I see at least one new move from you each week. I’m somewhat torn though, I don’t think you kept with the theme throughout the entire video, but I loved it so much, I can’t really dock points for it! Score: 8.
