They’ve shared their thoughts all season long, plus they’ve had a vote this year in deciding who will be awarded the title of Hooping Idol and spin away with our Ultimate Hooping Idol Prize Package. What’s in that prize package you ask? Let us tell you all about it one more time.

Our Hooping Idol 3 Ultimate Prize Package starts off with a totally rockin’ registration to one of Hoop Revolution’s upcoming teacher trainings for 2013 to learn even more from the Mother of Hoop Dance herself – Anah “Hoopalicious” Reichenbach (a $600 Value) along with an Original EcoHoop™ from Hoop Revolution® – the world’s first recycled plastic hoop (Spring sale price $25, regularly $34.99), plus Hoop Revolution’s highly anticipated Core Foundation DVD. We’re also so excited this year to be sending our Hooping Idol to Hoopcamp 2013, the biggest annual event specifically for hoopers on the planet. Now in it’s 6th year it’s five days and four nights of the most incredible workshops, hoopjams and more – and they’ll be performing in Hoopcamp 2013’s Amazing Hooper Showcase ($549 value). If you’re going to be a Hooping Idol you’re going to need the most kickass rockin’ LED hoop on the planet too – the Atomic Evoke 4 with DOUBLE the LEDS from Astral Hoops! Doubling the LEDs not only makes your new hoop super bright, it also helps the more complex patterns being created stand out with a whole new freakin level of clarity ($449 value)! WOW! Hooping.org also really wants to support our new Hooping Idol in being able to take things to the next level by giving them two months of site-wide graphic advertising ($200 a month, a $400 value) to get their name, performances and hooping business out there. With more than 10 million hits to our name, Hooping.org is the ultimate place to reach hoopers and those who wanna be. We had more than 60,000 hits from 40,000 unique visitors last week alone, making the actual cost of advertising with us so ridiculously cheap. Do the math! And to ensure that our Hooping Idol will be able to set the night on fire and look even hotter doing it, we’ve got a sizzling five wick Harmonic Hoops fire hoop so they can burn it up ($130 value) – and a Harmonic Threads $50 gift certificate for some super cool handmade clothes. And just in case we’re missing anything, our friends at HoopSupplies.com have got you covered with a $200 gift certificate (including shipping) to get exactly what you want and need.

And we have a few more prize additions from the remaining Hooping Idol Judges themselves. Mat Plendl will be giving our Hooping Idol a 90 minute private lesson or 60 minute phone consultation to help them kick it into high gear and Marawa the Amazing is donating some super cool stickers.

Our second and third place finishers will also be receiving a $50 gift certificate from HoopSupplies.com and a $25 gift certificate from Harmonic Threads. Hooping.org thanks all of our Hooping Idol prize sponsors for their incredible generosity and support. It wouldn’t be Hooping Idol without you! Thank you soooo much!

And without any further ado it’s time for our Hooping Idol 3 Grand Finale featuring our three remaining finalists who are each giving their best shot at winning it all. After you’ve watched their videos be sure to cast your vote for the one (1) hooper you think should win Hooping Idol at the bottom of this page and welcome to Finale Week! Let the show begin!

Hooping Idol 3: Casting Week Begins

Hooping Idol Hooping.org is proud to announce that casting week is now officially open for our exciting third season of Hooping Idol. Hooping.org’s award winning contest is presenting a series of revolutionary challenges once again, leading us all on our search for the planet’s next great hooper star! Not sure if you have what it takes? While hoop skills are certainly helpful, we all know that when it comes to Idolization that the most technically proficient aren’t always the ones who rise to the top. So why not throw your hoop into the ring and let us be the judge? Last year Hannah Flett of Exeter, England, UK, did just that and went on to become a Hoopie Award nominated superstar!

What you will need in order to be considered is personality, creativity, a video camera (or access to one) and YouTube and Vimeo accounts. Given that we are looking for the planet’s next big hooper star those who have received nominations in Hooping.org’s annual Hoopie Awards celebration are not eligible to enter – their stars have already risen. The one exception, however, are those nominated for the Newbie Hooper of the Year and Youth Hooper of the Year award categories that did not win.

Hooping Idol 2: Slow Jams Week

Hooping Idol Slows Down Welcome to Hooping Idol 2, Hooping.org’s revolutionary contest that is leading us all on an ever spinning journey in our search for the planet’s next big hooper star! For those of you just tuning in we started off by introducing our 20 selected finalists for Season Two. Then we all shook our groove thangs for Hooping Idol Disco Week. We said our Disco Farewells to 4 and announced Circus Week. Our 16 finalists spun up amazing things under the Big Top for Hooping Idol Circus Week, but 6 were eliminated and we introduced our Slow Jams Week concept.

For this challenge our finalists needed to take our Ten Easy Hooping Video Tips with them and slow things down. We asked our finalists to get intimate with us, to connect with the audience, to really bring themselves and their personality for this round. And to help them find that magic place we told them to set their radio dial to the soft rock or slow jams station. After all, soft rock songs and slow jams are all about intimacy, or feeling the lack thereof in life. They’re songs about love and romance, heartache and loneliness. They’re songs about feelings and for our Top Ten finalists to take things to the next level we wanted them to share theirs and channel those emotions into their hooping and their video. After all, we all want to feel something – and in order for us to feel it, they’re going to have to be feeling it first. For Slow Jams week Hooping Idol we are going soft and warm like the quiet storm. It’s time to focus on beauty. It’s a great time to showcase grace and flow. It’s the perfect time to bring it. They all claimed a song under five minutes in length and created a Slow Jams Week video for all of us, remembering to make it count because when the week comes to a close three Hooping Idol finalists will be heading home.

Seated at our judges table today are our four judges with incredible credentials, as well as a special guest. Our four judges are Anah Reichenbach of Hoop Revolution, Rich Porter of Isopop, Canadian hooping legend Babz Robinson of Wild Girl Hoops, and the amazing Marawa The Amazing of MarawaTheAmazing.com in the UK. And joining them this week is none other than Rebecca Phipps who took 3rd place for Hooping Idol Season One. Our finalists are once again presenting their videos and our judges will once again be sharing their thoughts and comments. So without any further ado, get out your snuggie as we proudly present our Top Ten finalists in a randomly selected order for Hooping Idol Slow Jams Week!

Hooping Idol 2 Circus Farewells and Slow Jams

Hooping Idol Slows Down The results of Hooping Idol 2: Circus Week are in the video above. Hooping.org congratulates all of our Hooping Idol finalists that are moving forward and we have nothing but love for those that we must leave behind as we pack up our circus tent and continue onward and upward in our pursuit of finding the next great hooper star. Thank you for your outstanding participation in Hooping Idol. We adore you all.

What’s next for our Top Ten Hooping Idol finalists? We think it’s time to slow things down a little, don’t you? After all, a recent discussion of what our would be Idols might very well need the most right now ended up all coming down to intimacy. And sure, we all have intimacy issues, who doesn’t? But in this arena we need to sideline them or use them to our advantage in our attempt to really connect with the audience. We’ve been on a couple of dates. We’ve hung out on the playground together a couple times. At this point we know you’ve got skills. We know you know how to throw it down, but can we take some time out to slow things? Can we take things, y’know, softer?

Ultimately the viewing audience really wants to see you. They want to connect with you. They want to know you. They want to not only watch you send up some delicious hooping and pull off something awesome, they want to feel awesome about you doing it. In the modern age of hooping and online tutorials it’s become a lot less difficult to learn technique, but being Hooping Idol requires more than that. It requires you, your personality, your own personality hoopster fingerprint. And in order for you to find the magic place of which we speak we suggest moving in a little closer and setting your radio dial to the soft rock or slow jams station. After all, soft rock songs and slow jams are really all about intimacy, or feeling the lack thereof in life. They’re songs about love and romance, heartache and loneliness. They’re songs about feelings and to take things to the next level we want to share yours – and for you to channel those emotions into your hooping and into your video. We all want to feel something and in order for us to feel it, you’re going to have to be feeling it first.

For Slow Jams week Hooping Idol is going soft and warm like the quiet storm. We’re saying that it’s time to focus on beauty. We think it’s a great time to showcase grace and flow. And at this point in the competition it’s the perfect time to let us all in closer so that we want to ride along with you on your hoop path to the very end. The only limit for this challenge is your imagination. Bring it.

First you’ll need to claim your soft rock or slow jam favorite via email at hoopingidol@gmail.com. Pick a song that is under five minutes in length and if the song is already claimed by another hooper, you will be notified to choose another track. Then you’ll create your next Hooping Idol video inspired by our theme for the week. While you’re still welcome to use slow motion if you wish, high speed clips are no longer allowed now that you’re in the finals. Post your video on YouTube and Vimeo on or before Sunday, May 6th, at 11:59pm PST. Please be aware that videos take time to upload and post so don’t wait til the last minute. Title your video in both locations as – Hooping Idol Slowjams Week on Hooping.org – and copy your video link urls and email them to hoopingidol@gmail.com. That’s it. And please, have fun with this. Whatever you do, just remember to make it count because at the end of Slow Jams Week, three Hooping Idol finalists will be heading home. Happy Hooping everybody!

Then welcome to Circus Week for Hooping Idol 2, our award winning contest that is leading all of us on an ever spinning journey in our quest to find the planet’s next big hooper star! They were reminded to pay attention to our Ten Easy Hooping Video Tips, to have fun and to make it count because when the circus moves on six of our finalists will not be coming with us. Seated at our judges table today are three amazing hoopers with incredible credentials including Anah Reichenbach of Hoop Revolution, Canadian hooping legend Babz Robinson of Wild Girl Hoops, as well as quite possibly the most famous hula hooper on the planet – Marawa The Amazing of MarawaTheAmazing.com in the UK. Rich Porter of Isopop has the week off. Our finalists are once again presenting their videos and our judges will once again be sharing their thoughts and comments. Hooping Idol 2: Disco Week

Hooping Idol Are you ready for a disco hoop dance explosion? Then welcome to Disco Week and the official kick off of Hooping Idol 2. For this challenge our finalists needed to choose a disco song that spoke to them and their hooping, then make a video showing us what they were made of. They were reminded of Hooping.org’s Ten Easy Hooping Video Tips and to have fun and make it count because when it was over five of our Hooping Idol finalists would be going home.
