Chanel Hula Hoop Holder Takes Hooping to High Fashion

Chanel Hula Hoop Holder After all of the hoopla surrounding Chanel’s hula hoop bag that took Paris Fashion Week and the world by storm, our friends at Fashionista have discovered something even more amazing for us hoopers. Just in case there was any doubt left in your mind that hooping is highly fashionable, Chanel not only made the super large and small versions of the hula hoop bag for fashion week, there is also a Chanel hula hoop holder. Fashionista’s Executive Editor Leah Chernikoff found something pretty amazing while reviewing everything in the Chanel spring collection recently. She writes, “While the massive life-sized hula hoop bag stole the spring Chanel show there were some other hooping accessories that got overlooked. A mini-version of the bag will be produced and retail for $2400-3100. But when I previewed the Chanel spring collection I was surprised to find a quilted Chanel hula hoop holder had been created as well. No word on whether the holder is actually being produced (the ginormous hula hoop bag is not so we’re not holding our breath) – but we can’t imagine why not? Because who doesn’t need a Chanel hula hoop holder amirite?”

Kenzo Spins Hoops Prints and Color For Fall

Kenzo Hula Hoops For FallIt’s no secret that hooping is hot, so when hoops spin their way into high fashion we really aren’t surprised at all. Kenzo, the fashion house with an eye on fun from Paris, partnered up with filmmaker Quentin Jones to give us a sneak peek at their pre-fall 2012 collection. Style.com says, “What’s key for Kenzo is what has long been: print, for one; color, for another. But the twist comes from the oddly unidentifiable prints he and Lim designed, which merge animal and floral to create something abstract. That’s the kind of push and pull that can bring new juice to a longstanding concern like Kenzo, and early signs are promising. The playful new collection of minidresses and suiting separates, most nipped in at the waist in keeping with the season-defining trend, was splashy and fun.” And speaking of splashy and fun, check out the Quentin Jones sneak peek video below:
