Vive la France Hoop Dance!

HoopDanceFrance This fantastic video montage features a menagerie of hoopers from across the country of France! These 47 circular spinners from Paris to Marseille display a wide variety of talent, from single to multiple hoops, group choreography, fire dance, yoga and even belly dance! Some of the featured personalities include familiar Hooping.org faces such as Lila Chupa Hoops and Hooping Idol 4 favorite Flavie Hooplavie. With such a colorful crew and spunky soundtrack, this video is not to be missed!

Mia Hoops Here is a lovely hooping video with some breathtaking moments brought to us by Aurore Mia HaÏjjdouk, aka Mia Hoops. Watch Mia’s hoop dance amidst beautiful sepia toned scenery, including the middle of a babbling brook. She goes on to spin both single and multiple hoops in what she describes as her “Normandy Forest Paradise”. She lives in Caen, France, and the soundtrack for this is “You Don’t Hear Me Now” by Golden Animals and it’s available for you to download too on iTunes.

Ipcha Garpo: Une Petite Dingue du

Ipcha Zad Garpo Ipcha “Zad” Garpo, otherwise known as Philippe Lavot, has a new song out called “Une Petite Dingue du…” and it’s all about a girl who is crazy for hula hoops. In this zany French music video we follow the musicians as they play their way around the city of Paris with a hoop while pointing out other hoop-shaped objects along the way. Meanwhile the hooper is spinning until she’s literally “blue in the face”! We’re not sure how to get your hands on a copy of this fun soundtrack, but you can enjoy it here on hooping.org and on YouTube.

Shamay

Shamay Shamay Piratribe, hoop teacher and performer for the dance troupe Lucioles, just released her new demo for 2013 where she manages to incorporate a refreshing taste of belly dance into her moves. She is calling it “belly hoop fusion”, so let her mesmerize you with trick, after trick, after trick, after trick… Although Shamay teaches hoop dance in Paris, this was filmed in Marseilles. She lives in Paris, France, as well and the soundtrack for her new demo video is by Landry Music, though we aren’t sure what it is called.

Lila Chupa-Hoops on Holiday

Lila Chupa Hoops When Lila Chupa-Hoops of Hoopera and LilaChupaHoops.com went on holiday with her brother, a getaway vacation at the beach, they came back with enough wonderful footage to make this beautiful and romantic hoop dance video, shot at sunset on the shoreline in France. Our finalist from Hooping Idol 2 steps into the Atlantic and spins up her usual magic. She lives in Paris, France, and the soundtrack for this is “Prelude” by Bonobo and you can get a copy of it for yourself on iTunes.

Hoopera Spins Fitness on French TV

Hoopera on France 2 Bonjour Hoopers! We are on our way to Paris so we can watch TV! We’re tuning into the daily show on France 2 where the hula hoop is about to take center stage. Talking all about the return of the hoop as a fitness tool, eventually these television journalists have to get out of the studio and step inside of a hoop for themselves and they end up attending their first hoop dance class as a result. Where do we find them spinning things up? In a beginners class with Anossens and Lila Chupa-Hoops of Hoopera, of course. Lila told Hooping.org, “They came to film in one of our beginner classes and Anossens taught everyone the basic steps on how to start hooping. Then I joined everyone in the studio yesterday morning to give the journalists a try at hooping live.” How did everybody do? Isaya ShaktiIsayä Shakti of Hoopdance NPDC makes her first appearance on Hooping.org in a video created by Carole of Visiovore. It starts off with a quote by Rumi, the poet laureate of hoopers, that says, “We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars form a circle … and in the center we dance.” Meanwhile, Isayä dances inside her circle and she scatters joy to those who watch. She lives in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, and her soundtrack for this is called “Legend” and it’s by Secret Vibes. You can download a copy of it on iTunes.

Lila Chupa Hoops of Hoopera‘s new demo presents a very polished, professional and totally confident video demonstration of what it is she does, hooping wonderfully! One of our four top finalists from Hooping Idol last year, it’s great to see her looking so good. Lila lives in Paris, France, and her soundtrack here is “Glitter Bomb” by Juanitos.

Doctissimo Puts Hula Hooping to the Test

Hoopera Lila Chupa-Hoops of Hoopera, a finalist on our second season of Hooping Idol that went all the way to the finale, recently helped put the hula hoop to the test for Doctissimo. The popular French website related to health and wellness decided to find out more about this thing called hooping. Lucile Woodward, who is a journalist in their sport and fitness category, decided to take her first hooping class on an investigative mission. After attending hoop class with Lila, a beginner class for first time hoopers, what did her thoughts end up being on the matter? Lucile concluded that aside from the fitness and sporty side of hooping she had discovered a whole artistic and creative aspect she hadn’t anticipated. She arrived ready to test out hula hooping and she left with a new hoop dance vocabulary, excited to learn more. Watch the segment below:

Anossens: The Arrival of Spring

Anossens Are you excited that Spring is just around the corner? It officially arrives in less than a week and Anossens of Hoopera celebrates the arrival of a spring day in the south of France by hooping in the garden for the first time this year. It was “a day for my hoops” she says, and lucky for us it turned out to be a day that we get to see her spin up something awesome. Anossens comes to us from Strasbourg, France, and the soundtrack for this is the a cover version of “Major Tom” by Shiny Toy Guns and it’s available for you to download on iTunes.
