Submissions

Got something you’d like to share on Hooping.org? We’d love to hear about it! Hooping.org welcomes your videos, tutorials, photos, news stories and more. As the most recognized and respected hooping website in the world, submitting something won’t just give yourself, and your website if you have one, considerable exposure, you’ll also get that warm and fuzzy feeling that comes from participating in your community! Before you send it in though, here are some guidelines:

Photos: If you’re nominating a photo please let us know where it was taken and who the photographer was. If it was a professional photographer, please obtain permission from the photographer prior to sharing the photo with Hooping.org. If you don’t have permission, we can’t publish it. Most photographers would like to see their work get attention, so ask ‘em. If we use your photo we also love to link everyone involved, so be sure to include any web links for whoever is in the photo and the photographer.

Videos and Tutorials: If you’d like to nominate a video or tutorial please note that Hooping.org does not host video files. Please upload the video to a service like YouTube or Vimeo first and then send us the link. We also invite you to share any information about your project that you think would be of interest to viewers, where it was filmed, who all is in it, etc. If there’s a song playing we’d love to know who it is by and what it is called. We also love to link everyone involved so please include any links so we can do so.

News Items: Were you written up in the press or did you stumble upon a hooping story in the news? Please send us the link to the story. We love it when you let the world know about hooping – it helps us with our mission! If you’ve only seen the piece in print and are not sure if your article is online, please tell us the name of the publication and date and we can look into tracking it down too.

Original Content: Have you written something that you’d like to share with the hooping community? We welcome your written submissions as well. If it’s chosen for publication it will include your byline. Pieces that are strictly for the purpose of self publicity, however, will be declined – so make sure it’s something for the community and if you’d like to be a part of the hooping.org team we periodically take on new team members, just let us know.

In closing, when it comes to submissions the basic rule of thumb is send it in and the place to do that is through our Contact Page. We’d love to see it even if it’s not really right for us. Unfortunately everything that is submitted can’t be published and/or may wind up being published in a less than timely fashion, perhaps for a special theme week, or maybe we just ran something similar and aren’t needing that this week, etc, but we love hearing from you and your content submissions are most valued and deeply appreciated.

Hi, I’m a young hula-Hooper. I would like to nominate the photo on this website: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=579388795449001&set=a.536597286394819.1073741825.536595509728330&type=1&theater

(I don’t know how else to send this to you)

It was taken in front of my house, the photographer was my little sister, (she’s not a professional.)

Krystin Railing from Circus Mafia combines hula hoop yoga with the classic exercise ball for this unique workout. Here is a video from yesterday’s pre- New Years Eve party workout!

    Hello friends.

I hope you enjoy my first original full length music video. The hardest part about creating this video was trying to bring the lyrical imagery to life. How could I record myself being trapped inside a whirlwind with a beautiful blonde? I was determined to figure that out, and it happens to be inside a hula hoop! I am very happy with how it came out. I’d love to hear your feedback. What do you think?

Hello hooping.org, you magically found and posted a video of mine before one time and I’d love to share my new one. It’s a celebration of my hoop journey and enjoying my kinetic smart hoop. The music is Kozmic Blues by Janis Joplin. Many thanks

I’d like to share this with my fellow hoopers :)
I am 21 years old and live in Iowa.
I have been hooping for a little over a year now.
It was kind of a windy and chilly day but i was at the Frisbee golf course here in town with my boyfriend and some friends. While the boys were off playing frisbee, i set down my iphone onto a picnic bench, turned on music with my boyfriends phone and put it next to my mic on my phone. Completely unedited. I was just really feeling my flow that day and this video turned out great. :D
Thank you for reading and watching, feel free to share with others!
    Enjoy and Happy Hooping!
