Your First Time

Spring Equinox 2010, I was led to the hoopdance after doing a medicine wheel ceremony & receiving a vision. Being a Metis & having 6 Native bloodlines I first attempted Sacred Hoopdancing & although I could do the various symbols my timing was off & I quickly became frustrated because the hoops we had were so light couldn’t even keep them up around your waist let alone spin around you! So ultimately I gave it up & never really thought much else about it until 3 days prior to the Spring Equinox 2011, I awoke with one thing on my mind..HOOPING! I figured that if the Universe brought me the hoopdance once & I didn’t listen but brought it back into my awareness again; obviously it was for a reason & I should listen this time! And I’ve not stopped since! It’s become a prominent part of my everyday life. I’d have to say sometimes it tends to take precedence because of the drive that I feel & have within me. I KNOW this is something I was intended to do. Symbolically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally & physically it positively afffects my life, purifies me & I know it will be instrumental in helping me to ascend above my limitations;)

Hoop Business

HillbillyHoopers & WVHoopers are my first projects that I’m launching my primary focus right now is on children. I’m just starting out but have a lot of plans for various ways we can incorporate the hoop into our community as a gift of joy, peace, love & healing. I just started giving lessons to local kids in our neighborhood but have been asked to take it to the community center to provide something positive & beneficial for the local area kids. Right now I’m focusing on doing charity work but eventually when I am confident enough I will begin having private adult classes. My first performance is coming up June 25, 2011 at my 20 yr. Class Reunion & do plan on doing events & hoopjam sessions locally & throughout the tri-state, as well as, I would like to form an all women’s burlesque hoopgroup for special performances. Babystepping my way everyday!
