Top Ten List Guess what? It’s time to countdown the top ten most buzz worthy posts of the past week, as based on reader response. We’re surprised Astroboy Becoming Talentdong Pinoy Ultimate Champion didn’t quite make the top ten. Did you see his performance? So freakin awesome. So what were the top ten hits of the hoopersphere? We’ll start you off at Number 10 and work our way up to the Number 1 spot of the week. Here’s Hooping.org’s Top Ten List for May 6th – May 12th, 2012.

10: This acro hooping photo of Ciara Blossom and Noah Shipley made a whole lotta people very happy.

9: The brand new music video for Nelly Furtado: Big Hoops (Bigger The Better) was released and it’s awesome. Check it out.

8: Coming in at number 8 is a video we fully expect to see in the Hoopie Award nominations next year. Yeah, it’s that good: Luna Breeze: Incandescence.

7: Next up we have a new column by Lara in honor of Mother’s Day: Mothering and Hooping.

6: Speaking of Lara, this awesome hooping photo of her from her birthday bash was hot this week too: Happy Birthday Lara Eastburn.

5: Coming in at number five this week was the Hooping Idol Slow Jam Farewells and Performance Week results show. If you missed Slow Jam Week, just keep on reading. As for Performance Week, stay tuned this week to watch the Top 7 perform.

4: And then we have a hooper we haven’t seen previously on Hooping.org: Bill: The Amazing 80-Year Old Hooper.

3: A documentary short film about Four New Yorkers Sharing Their Love for Hoop Dance was a big hit this week.

2: And we had another Mother’s Day related piece by Shea this week in support of Moms taking the time to hoop: Hooping Moms Need Time To Hoop. Hoop it up Moms and Happy Mother’s Day to you all!

1: Number one with a bullet this week was the latest episode of Hooping Idol with our top ten finalists spinning things up Slow Jams and Soft Rock Faves for Slow Jams Week: Hooping Idol 2: Slow Jams Week.

Top Ten List Hey Hoopers! What a week it was here at Hooping.org with our 9th Birthday celebration, the official start of weekend site updates and a phenomenal record breaking #1 spot of the week! Yowsah! Now it’s time to countdown the top ten most buzz worthy posts of the past week, as based on reader response. What were the hits of the hoopersphere? We start off at Number 10 and work our way up to Number 1. Here’s Hooping.org’s Top Ten List for the week of April 29th – May 5th:

10: New Hooping.org columnist Shea Brock got us all thinking about Slowing It Down.

9: AJ Rowbottom is Getting People Hooping and that made our readers happy.

8: In support of breast cancer survivors, hoopers in Nashville hooped the half marathon to raise funds and awareness in this Photo of the Day: Hooping For Hope.

7: Getting ready for Summer? Hooping tops the list of things to do for InStyle! InStyle Magazine: Get Hooping For Summer.

6: A Duet with Alexandra Baker and Sam Resnicow spun it’s way to our highest rated video of the week.

5: Kristen took us Behind the Frontlines of Self Employment with Time and Money Management Tips for those following their hoop dreams.

4: This flashback photograph we discovered revealed that hula hoop fitness isn’t exactly a new phenomenon: Hula Hoop Fitness Class 1966.

3: And as previously mentioned, Hooping.org turned another year older! Thanks everybody for the warmth and the wishes: Happy 9th Birthday Hooping.org.

2: It was Circus Week on Hooping Idol 2 and our finalists truly delivered an extravaganza (see number one this week). In our second spot was the Circus Week Results Show, farewells to our eliminated finalists, coupled with the announcement of the new challenge for the week ahead: 2 Hooping Idol 2: Circus Farewells and Slow Jams. Stay tuned this week for when our Idols slow things down for a set.

1: And in our record breaking number one spot this week with somewhere between 1000 and 2000 “Likes” (the button only registers increments of a thousand once it hits 1K) was Hooping Idol 2: Circus Week. If you haven’t already checked our finalists out under the big top, by all means – step right up!

10: A flash mob of hoopers took to the street during the inaugural Irish Hoop Convention held in Dublin, Ireland: Dublin Hula Hoop Flash Mob.

9: We’ve never thought about running a marathon, much less hooping it – so we truly salute and congratulate Sasha on her new world record: Sasha Kenney Sets New Fastest Hooping Marathon Record.

8: The Dudes of Hooping Calendar 2013 is coming your way featuring plenty of awesome shots of dude hoopers, raising money for Spin Cycle.

7: Lara shared her hoop taping secrets: 5 Simple Hoop Taping Tips.

6: Hooping Idol 2 announced our remaining judges this week and we were all psyched to learn Hoopalicious was joining the team: Hooping Idol 2 Welcomes Anah Reichenbach.

5: Joining Anah at the judges table for season two of Hooping Idol as well is Canadian hooping legend Babz Robinson: Hooping Idol 2 Welcomes Babz Robinson.

4: Our biggest video of the week was huge – Voodoo Dreams Into Rainhoop Mornings with Alie P.

3: Bonnie took a closer look at a the term Hooping Master, getting a lot of people thinking about just what we mean by that: Master of the Hoop?

2: It was Disco Week on Hooping Idol 2 and our finalists spun up a disco explosion (see number one). In our second spot this week was the results show farewells to our eliminated finalists and the announcement of the new challenge for the week ahead: Hooping Idol 2 Farewells and Welcome to Circus Week. Be sure to tune in for the Circus inspired extravaganza on Tuesday.

1: And at number one with a bullet this week was Hooping Idol 2: Disco Week. If you haven’t already watched our finalists struttin’ their stuff in polyester on roller skates and more, check it out.

9: When it comes to hooping on campus, one great place to do that is with The Hoop Dance Club of SUNY Cortland in New York state.

8: GroovinMeGzz teamed up with Jonny Quest to make a beautiful video – GroovinMegzz: Hooplandia – from Portlandia, Oregon.

7: Carol Turner is Hooping To Heal in the great state of Maine and our many of our readers are too.

6: Our highest rated photo this week came from a Hooping Idol favorite from season one – Anossens: Anossens at Les Caves Saint Sabin. A truly stunning shot.

5: Hooping Idol fever heated up this week with the announcement that Rich Porter would be seated at our judges table: Hooping Idol 2 Welcomes Rich Porter.

4: Keith Moore Lost 100 Pounds Hooping. Totally awesome, go Keith!

3: We announced another judge for Hooping Idol 2 and everybody got excited when Hooping Idol 2 Welcomed Marawa The Amazing.

2: Our Hooper of the Week interview was with Sari Mah and Lara shared her transformational and inspirational story: Sari Mah: Inside The Hoop. It’s a winner.

1: And at number one this week with a bullet, we introduced our 20 selected finalists that will be spinning things up for Hooping Idol 2. Hooping Idol 2: Meet The Finalists. And stay tuned for a disco explosion when their Disco Week submissions roll in this week!

Top Ten List Hey Hoopers! It’s time to countdown the top ten hooping hits of the past week based on reader response. What were the top ten most buzzworthy items in the hoopersphere this time around? We’re going to tell you all about it, starting off at Number Ten and working our way up to Number One. So without any further ado, here’s Hooping.org’s Top Ten List for the week of April 8th – 14th:

10: Coming in at Number Ten was a new video full of sparkling lights out of Austin, Texas: Neon Emu: City Lights.

9: Fer of Mexico City taught us Booty Hooping in her first tutorial and a lot of hoopers were happy about that.

8: Christine’s video put a smile on our faces this week, reminding us that we are all Exactly Where We Need To Be.

7: This week Arvolyn found her flow and in watching her video we were all just as happy about it as she was: Hoop Happy.

6: Make some popcorn, sit back, relax and enjoy an entire showcase featuring the hoopers of Salt Lake City: Hoopenanny 2 with The Hoopligans Hoop Collective.

5: At the annual White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington DC this year, the 2012 special commemorative egg got everyone very excited. We even had to order one for our very own: The 2012 White House Hula Hoop Easter Egg.

4: What is the story on the hottest hooper on YouTube today? Hooping.org interviewed her to find out – Katie Sunshine: Inside The Hoop.

3: Lara went to a plus-size friendly hooping retreat in the state of Texas and found joy. Our readers did as well: Postcards From Hottie Hoop Camp.

2: Philo shared his belief that we all have our own 100% natural hoop groove: Organic Hooping: Growing Your Own Groove.

We got sidetracked this weekend hooping and celebrating Philo’s birthday, sorry, but we still want to countdown the top ten hooping hits of the past week – as based on reader response. What were the top ten most popular posts in the hoopersphere? We start things off at Number Ten and work our way up to Number One with Hooping.org’s Top Ten for the week of April 1st – 7th:

10: Coming in at Number Ten was a video taken at the first hoop gathering in Bentonville, Arkansas: Spring Fling Play and Flow.

9: With casting week opening later today for the second season of Hooping Idol, Lara tracked down and interviewed our reigning champ: Nick Broyd: One Year Later.

8: Our readers really loved this new video from Lacye too: Lacye Sparkle: Rainbow.

7: Anna Loots appearance on Holland’s Got Talent made a whole lot of people happy. It’s quite beautiful.

6: This LED Hooping photo from a recent gathering in Texas spun up lots of smiles: Hottie Hoop Camp Big Ass Bonfire Hoop Jam.

5: Then we had more awesome photos, only these were from another era entirely – 1958 to be precise. Looking at these shots more than fifty years later, was photographer J.R. Eyerman seeing into the future? J.R. Eyerman: Hula Hoop Visionary.

4: Shannon’s column got everybody ready to bloom! Blooming Inside The Hoop.

3: In celebration of Easter, Angel had a vision of a hooping class – made from peeps: Hoop Peep Class.

2: Guest blogger Amanda learned something from her students and inspired all of us in the process: Teaching Others To Hoop Can Inspire Us.
