January Jones as Emma Frost
January Jones, who plays mutant telepath Emma Frost in the new film
X-Men: First Class, in addition to being on the hit television series
Mad Men, has spilled the beans about her private life and one of her secrets is she’s a hooper. In fact, while it’s common practice for actors to bring in a team of personal trainers, nutritionists and assistants to help them prepare for a role, Jones revealed that a hula hoop was her only aid in muscling-up for the part. “I had a weighted hula hoop in my hotel room which I loved to use,” she explained, adding, “I would literally watch an entire episode of Friends while hula hooping and it didn’t feel like a work out.” And Jones’ hooping talents apparently provided much amusement on the set. James McAvoy, who plays the young Professor Charles Francis Xavier (Professor X), was very surprised. She said, “I would come to work and brag about my hula hooping skills and he didn’t believe anybody could really hula hoop.” Jones also told the press that she’s pregnant and that she is going to be a single mom, having split from her actor boyfriend Jason Sudeikis earlier this year. She did not say who the dad is. Last week the film’s director, Matthew Vaughn, who is married to supermodel Claudia Schiffer, publicly denied he is the baby’s father.
