Hoopies 2010: Rock The Vote

trophy VOTING RULES: You may cast only one vote this year between now and Friday, January 22nd, 2010, at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Please note our voting system automatically logs your IP address, the unique Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. Exceeding the number of votes from your IP address will cause all votes from that IP address to be disqualified. If you have other people who want to vote that share your computer at home or work we apologize for any difficulties our system presents, but in our efforts to ensure fairness there can be no exceptions. Thank you for understanding. Voters must submit a vote in a minimum of three categoriers for a ballot to be considered valid.

A new policy was implemented this year where previous winners are not allowed to win in the same category twice. You can view our 2009 Award winners and 2008 Award winners if you wish. If you're wondering why you're not seeing a particular nominee in the finalists, it might be that they won that award previously. In a couple categories you will see a previous winner appear in the same category as part of a different collaboration as determined by our Nominations Review Panel. New this year, while our finalists had previously simply been those with the most nominations submitted, a panel of 30 randomly selected ballot casters was implemented this year to review nominations submitted and individually vote for their five most deserving finalists in each category. Our final nominees presented this year are those rated highest by the panel as a whole. We believe this new system has proved invaluable.

To encourage more thoughtful voting, all of our nominees on the ballot are linked and clicking any of the purple links will automatically open related web pages in a new window as to not disturb your voting page. Hooping.org invites you to take time to really review all of our nominated photos, videos, tutorials, tunes, hoopers and communitiies this year. 2009 was a truly amazing year in the world of hooping. While everyone who is a hooper is already a winner, those receiving a 2010 Hoopie Award will be announced on Monday, January 25th, 2010.

Please enter your name in the box below and then choose your selections, one per category. Hooping.org is pleased to present your top nominated finalists:

Comments

I can't possibly vote because I love all these hoopers, videos, photos, tutorials and groups. How can I play favorites? Cast my vote for "all of the above" and all those not on the ballot, too. Winners all, I say.

just a note--i didn't vote on anyone or anything i hadn't seen or heard of before....i.e., performance groups or local hoop community, as i didn't feel i was qualified or had enough info to know...peace

Congratulations to all of the nominees, there is so much courage and talent out there. It is always encouraging to see creativity recognized by such a supportive community.

woohoo!

what do you do to get nominated?

Seraph, to get nominated, people need to nominate you, the nominations were held last week.

In general - I just want to say how much I love and adore the Hoopies. I look forward to this more than any awards show on TV. I am so proud of and inspired by every single nominated hooper, event, video, etc. I just LOVE HOOPERS.

*throws around hoop love confetti*

*does a little jig*

I love to think that the process that leads to nominations is organic because us hoopers are cool like that ;)
I enjoy seeing who's nominated & looking at their vids & clips for inspiration as well as to make some tough choices. Congratulations to everyone & thanks Philo for taking this on!

great job....keep it up
