Hooping Puts Latest Spin on Fitness
In Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports, "Hooping is emerging as a fun and novel way to get into shape. The exercise is done with hoops that are larger and heavier than traditional hula hoops to give you a full-body workout. Some are weighted with water so you can make them heavier or lighter. The heavier the hoop, the slower it rotates around your body. 'Hooping really helps get rid of those love handles, and helps you get in shape from your torso to your arms to your legs,' says instructor Shelley Wain, owner of Spin on Fitness, who teaches classes in her Jefferson Hills studio. 'I think a lot of people have a misunderstanding of hooping, because they think of those tiny hoops you used as a kid or they try their kid's hoop, and say, 'I can't do this.'" The article also speaks with Christabel Zamor and Stephanie Babines. Full article: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
