Hooping Craze Hits New York
The New York Daily News reports, "The latest exercise trend to hit New York is as old school as they get - Hula Hooping - and it's gaining a growing number of devotees across the city. 'It's definitely been getting more popular,' said hoop dance instructor Janet Yen, 34, of the lower East Side, who said she has hosted classes for everyone from bachelorette parties to high-powered law firms. 'When I started, people had no idea what I was doing. I would carry my hoop around and people would say, 'Wow, is that a Hula Hoop?''" Full story: NY Daily News. And Fox News in New York spent some time with Hoopnotica instructor Sheryl Wilson in spreading the news about losing weight by hooping, as well as meeting up for hooping in Central Park.
