video of the day

Let's take it slow, shall we? Baxter hooping at a Hoop Path class in Austin, Texas. Video by Laura Scarborough.

trick of the week

We've had requests for info on how to do a roll across your back, so this week we're revisiting an excellent tutorial by Caroleeena. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.

track of the week

kaskade: grandconsoul trainin: stop

Hoop music favorites Kaskade have released "The Grand (Mixed)" that kicks off with our track of the week - "Angel On My Shoulder (EDX's Belo Horizonte At Night Remix)" and has seventeen more tasty treats. It's in the listening station up top, but get your own on iTunes by clicking:

And then we have my current favorite hooping track. I love it and it's called "Stop" by Consoul Trainin - specifically the Diego Donati Vs F&A Factor Club Mix. It's so good and it's in the listening station. Get yours on iTunes by clicking:

Marisa Tomei Gets Ellen DeGeneres Hooping

tomei and ellen hooping We've been telling you about Marisa Tomei using hooping as her method for getting in shape for her role as a stripper in the new film The Wrestler. Recently she was sharing the joy of hooping again, only this time it was on The Ellen Show. "I hula hoop a lot which is my favorite part of my [fitness] routine now," Tomei told Ellen. Although Ellen had a hooping lesson previously on the show, she told Tomei that she didn't know how to hula hoop. Soon they were both hooping up a storm with Hoopnotica hoops. Watch the video here.

Comments

LOVE IT!!! They're both just adorable and such good sports.

Awesome clip! I just wish they'd referred to them as body hoops, not hula hoops, and explained the difference. I see woman across the land trying to hoop with some lightweight thing they scored at Toys R Us. But otherwise--loved it! And I just saw Marisa in 'The Wrestler', so nice synergy today. ;->
