Micha Adams: Hoopin' For The 'Hood
Michigan's Hometown Life reports, "Three months ago, Micha Adams stepped into a Hula Hoop and realized it was impossible not to smile. Curiously, the yoga instructor began to play and within just months, her hips and the hoop became one. Today, she can spin and twirl multiple hoops - dancing as if it were her partner. ... As she hooped with friends in outdoor parks, she noticed the joy in children's eyes as they watched. Adams, of Detroit, who enjoys giving to the community, quickly decided she wanted to give Hula Hoops to kids whose lives aren't so easy. ... Adams hopes to raise enough money to make 1,000 hoops this year for kids at a homeless and domestic violence shelters - and to other children who aren't so fortunate. 'It really is a spiritual tool,' Adams said. 'There's a kinetic awareness that happens in the hoop - you're truly just in the moment.'"
