World Hoop Day Comes Early To Rockford
Helen Linden isn't just hooked on hooping, the art teacher at McIntosh Elementary School in the Rockford Public School System in Rockford, Illinois, has been spreading the addiction - to her students. Having literally made hundreds of hoops, including one for each of the seventy-three fifth graders, she's had the kids decorating them in art class. The students from McIntosh, which is located in a high poverty area, won't be in school for World Hoop Day due to summer vacation, so they decided to have their own a few weeks early on May 31st.

Linden has also encouraged her students to hoop during their summer vacation, especially on July 7th, 2007, which is when she's promoting her World Hoop Day event in Dixon, Illinois. In the meantime, Hooping.org salutes Helen Linden and all the students at McIntosh Elementary School for their participation in World Hoop Day. Keep on hooping!
