Hooping again

at potrero del sol Two weeks ago I took a very unplanned break from hooping. I was mugged and ended up with a head injury and a hairline skull fracture. Simply walking around was bad enough at first, but I've been healing so quickly I decided to meet up with Bay Area Hoopers at Potrero del Sol on Sunday. We chose the location hoping it would bring the sun that was most definitely missing. It was great to be hooping again, even if I did end up quitting early and heading home dizzy and nauseous.

Good for you, Philo. Look at that triumphant pose, too! Ain't no mugger gonna keep YOU down.

hooray philo , keep getting well :)
i was wondering where you were .

I live in SF and have begun hooping.
I have a couple of hoops, and I have some basic skills. Many of my friends spin poi or the staff. But no one hoops!!! I would love to meet others who can teach and inspire me.
Are there any gatherings coming up? How might I find out about them? Are there any classes that you're aware of?Thanks!

The Bay Area Hoopers meet every week or two, and while it's not a class by any means, it's a great way to go and play and pick some things up. Check out the event calendar for the next BAH group hoop!

  Track of the Week

cosmic cowboysAli Farka Touré & Toumani Diabaté

Our two tracks for the week start off with Cosmic Cowboys and their new release "One Last Whisper." We're especially loving the Hiro Remix which is why we've added it to the Hoop Sounds iPod below. Check it out and other mixes and download yours on iTunes by clicking:

Cosmic Cowboys - One Last Whisper EP - One Last Whisper

Next we cool things down with a track for some dreamier hooping. The track is called "Ruby" from the new release from Ali Farka Touré & Toumani Diabaté of Mali. We think you're going to like it. Give it a listen on the iPod and get your copy on iTunes by clicking:
