30/30 Hoop Love Challenge: Wrap Up & Winner

30/30 Hoop Love Challenge Wrap Up & Winner

For the month of March we were on an extra special mission to spin even more hoop love into our lives and the hooping community at large. Our all new 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge had hoopers not only spinning it up for 30 minutes a day for 30 days, but participating in other activities daily. We told you that even though we only had one free glamping ticket to Hoopcamp 2017 to give away as a a super major challenge prize that you’d all end up being winners just by participating. And guess what? You all are! Just check out some of the challenge wrap ups from the 53+ that were with us from start to finish.

Day 30 of the #hoopingdotorg3030 #challenge Go big or go home! β€œI completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing.” I climbed the mountain after putting my son on the bus this morning so I could hoop at the top for my 30 minutes today and get my victory #breakfastclub photo πŸ˜‚ I'm so proud of myself, I'm not one to typically finish what I start. This 30 day journey pushed me to my limit some days. It was exactly what I needed every single day. It was life changing. The people I've linked up with on here because of this are incredible. I'm so happy I participated and so happy @hoopingdotorg put this on. #hamilton #yourstrulysteelcity #steelcity #hamiltonmountain #stairsofdoom #hoopersofig #magicalhooper #magicalhoops #girlswhohoop #fitness #practice #motivation #hamont #ontario #selflove

Today is our last day in the Hoop Love Challenge and we are posting our check out and our thoughts on this experience. It was fantabulous!! I had a great time and so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave it an go! There were some tough days and they happen but I pushed through, found new ways to continue, as in my new big hoop:) and that makes me so happy!! I loved all the challenges, and for me some were quite challenging, in a good way!! I've learned that it's really all about having FUN!! Loving what we are doing while we are hooping, that we are all different, express ourselves differently and it is absolutely a-ok!! I love the feeling of belonging, of community, of all the shared support, the shared kindness, and wouldn't the world be a better place if we all showed kindness the way the hooping community does!! I've always been shy, and then when my health issues began I pulled even more into myself, and learned to accept and enjoy the solitude but this challenge has given me an amazing feeling, that even with limitations, you can always try, and sometimes things or hoops may fall and other times things are gonna fly high!! And isn't that wonderful!! Love and respect, kindness and hoopiness!! Around and around!! I completed all 30 consecutive days of the Hoop Love Challenge 30/30 and I am eligible for the Hoop Camp 2017 Registration Prize drawing! πŸ™‚ I began over on FB but ran into trouble with them pulling my posts b/c of music so switched over to IG so you may find my posts on both. Oops. πŸ’•#hoopingdotorg3030 #woohoo #30days #hooplove #hoopiness #ididit πŸ’•

Day 31: hoop love challenge! I'm finished. β€œI completed 30 days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing.” For me this challenge was initially hard from the instagram perspective because I don't like to take selfies and put myself out here but once I got past that my confidence in hooping got so much better. I think everyone experiences hoop envy in a way and they don't feel like they are good. I think I'm ok and iv got a lot to learn and that's ok. This challenge has opened my hooping abilities up. It has made me more confident and I'm learning new moves from watching over hoopers. His challenge has been amazing, I'm so happy I did it. Even from a health perspective I feel fitter and happier ❀#hoopingdotorg3030 #hulahoop

30/30 Hoop Love Challenge Day 31: Made it!! I completed 30 days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. This challenge has had a fantastic effect on me. It connected me with new hoopers, helped me unlock a slew of new tricks, & polished some old ones. Gave a little confidence boost on days my posts were shared, too. πŸ˜‰ I've participated in the 30/30's, before, but this one was so different…I loved it. Loved learning to make videos and loved posting them. In fact, I've posted more hoop videos in the last month than ever in the 4+ years I've been playing with hoops. It's helped me face a lot of fears and be more vulnerable. I was in desperate need of movement and of my spirits being lifted, this month. Every day. And every day, I've had this challenge to do both. Thank you @hoopingdotorg and @philohagen, please let's do this again!! I'm going to continue trying to consistently hoop a minimum of 30 minutes a day. My body is still playing catchup after chemo, steroids, surgeries, hormonal changes, and just plain laziness due to depression. I've been feeling old, broken, out of shape, and moody as all get out. If anything can keep me motivated and gently bring me back to happy and fit, hoop dance can. Plastic circles are awesome. So for my triumphant hoop pic, I've chosen to share an older shot. This is from 2 years ago as we were hanging mirrors in my hoop room. That was a glorious day! πŸ’œ #hoopingdotorg3030 #hoopdanceheals #hoopeverydamnday

Day 30. I can't believe it is the last day of the challenge. I think what made this challenge so special was the sense of community it brought upon us. It was cool to see each other in the blog posts, to like each other's things and talk to each other. I followed a lot of people and a lot of people followed me, which wouldn't have happened had we all not interacted through this #hoopingdotorg3030 hashtag. This challenge made me more active, encouraged me to eat better and has probably saved me lots of money and sleepy time by going home and hooping instead of out for drinks with friends. It was the first time I've ever finished a challenge… and I can actually say that I completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing!!! I am so proud of myself and all of you for doing it! Hopefully we will see each other again soon for another challenge πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’™

It's DAY 30 of #hoopingdotorg3030 Made it to the finish line!!! Weeeeeeee!!! I completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. 😊😊😊 hoopcamp would be a dream. I know it would be an amazing learning experience in my already wonderful journey. But even if I can't get there this year, I'll get there someday (I hope I hope I hope). Because what this challenge has really been about has been my love for hooping. And some accountability to make sure I'm honoring that love with passion. And making new hoop friends. And learning new things. And following through. And growing. And trying new things. Finding more confidence. And I think, today, I can say that about sums up the last 30 days 😊 it wasn't always easy (this was a rough month lol), but I did it! so here's to continuing to #hoopeverydamnday and continuing to fall in love with the hoop. Over and over and over. Thanks #hoopingdotorg and all my new instabuds…let's do it again sometime πŸ˜˜πŸ’ƒπŸ»β•οΈβ€βœŒπŸΌ #hoopersofinstagram #hooplove #hooplife

Day 31 #hoopingdotorg3030 β€œI completed 30 days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. I had a blast with this challenge and made new friends at the park that I hoop at. Let me just say…I never hooped 30 min it was always around 2 hours. I get into my flow and can't stop. The second week was hard because I had a friend visiting from Jamaica but he was a good sport and picked up the hoop now and then. Being in California I hope to win the tickets to hoop camp because in my 3 years of hooping I've never been able to attend any hoop festival. I know I could learn so much and be able to share my experience on my Vlog. Good luck to all my fellow hoopers. Thanks for all who supported me. Show me some β™₯️ and I'll continue the challenge in April. THANKS #hoopingdotorg

Day 31!!! I did it! And anyone who really knows me I can be a big procrastinater, so this is big for meπŸ‘ and it was a challenge in many ways. 30 min a day may not seem like a lot but with a toddler and a 10 year old and a full time job, life is busy. And all the hours i spent trying to upload my videos! Lmao! But I stuck to it, and it was worth it. It pulled me out of my rut, instead of being depressed staring at my hoops I got them spinning again and I love it! πŸ˜† I've met a lot of new hoop friends and I may not be able to do daily but I'm going to keep this hoop train going! I got my first stop drop and spin in this challenge and have a few more added up I need to get on. So thanks #hoopingdotorg3030 for getting me out of this funk and into this lovely hoop community, I'm forever grateful!!!! β€πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œ so I'm proud to say I've successfully completed the 30/30 hoop love challenge and am now entered for the hoop camp registration prize drawing! πŸ˜†πŸ’«

Day 30: we did it!!! 30 days of lovely and versatile hoop challenges achieved. I am enjoying my parade of kisses and I applaud us all for this feat. This challenge did so much for me, inside and out. I had put down my hoop for a while for reasons unbeknownst to me–maybe because I was focusing on painting, or yoga, or maybe I was just not feeling the flow. Spending most of this month by myself, I knew I wanted to spend that time reflecting. And when I saw this challenge, I knew the universe was offering me a gift I could not refuse, but rather embrace with smiles and laughter and as much grace and silliness I could muster. I love instagram 95% because of this community. Introverts, extroverts, athletes, designers, flight attendants, painters, mothers, people combating depression, anxiety, EVERY SINGLE type of beautiful amazing person is part of this hooping community and I have been overflowing with all the love I could possibly hope to give and receive within these 30 days. I'm grateful for the experience, the kindness, the love, and the opportunity to expand in collective consciousness with so many gorgeous and talented people who are passionate about movement. I am proud to say that I completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. Thank you to everyone who participated, for maintaining an enormous amount of support and expanding our love even further. Loving all of you. πŸ™β€ #hoopingdotorg3030 ✨ beautiful taped polypros from @sacredflowhoops ✨ #hoop #hulahoop #hoopersofinstagram #unityofthehulahoopers #girlswhohoop #gratefulhooper #sacredcircle

The things we do for art! It's brrrr cold at #laketahoe today, but since I'm going home tomorrow I just couldn't pass up taking my #hoopingdotorg3030 triumph photo here. I hooped every day in March, but used my wildcard to skip posting one day. The challenge confirmed what I already suspected: hoopers are the kindest people ever. Are nice people attracted to hooping or does hooping make people nice? Whatever the case, the #hoopingcommunity support during the challenge was fantastic. I'll miss the challenge and am so grateful for the virtual #flowmies who I hope continue to post on Instagram. Thank you @philohagen and @hoopingdotorg for putting on the challenge. It's day 30! I made it! It feels like I'm floating on cloud 9! I'm so proud of myself to have achieved this goal of hooping 30 minutes each day for 30 days. I completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. It's the first Instagram challenge I've completed and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I win the prize! But the biggest prize of all is the feeling that I've made a new habit for myself and I'm going to keep hooping every day. I feel like I grew throughout this challenge. I learned the 3-beat weave, my once arch-nemesis move, and back rolls. I opened up on a deeper personal level and I made some great connections with other hoopers. #hoopingdotorg3030

Day 30 #hoopingdotorg3030 I completed all 30 consecutive days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing. Closing thoughts: This month was pure chaos. I can't believe I managed this especially with all the travelling I ended up doing. I am actually going to miss the excitement of waking up and checking into @hoopingdotorg for the daily challenge. It was something I really started to look forward to each day. This challenge really showed me that I have so many people that support my hoop habit. I had friends offer to remind me, film me, participate, and even postpone or alter their own plans to help me complete my 30 minutes. Not to mention the support I received online was incredible. I can't thank you all enough. I want to continue to share my passion with you. Congratulations my 30/30 Hoop Love participants ! We did it! I hope we can stay connected as we continue on our hoop journeys. I made it to the last day of #hoopingdotorg3030 #spreadthehooplove challenge. This month has been all over the place for me and I really mean it when I say this challenge has served as my anchor. Hooping every day reminds me to pay attention to who I really am. Hooping takes me away from day to day distractions and into the present moment. This entire month was a reminder to tap into those moments whenever I need. So grateful to have taken part in this challenge. I not only took time to better my own flow, but felt love and shared love within the circle community. And every day I've gotten more and more excited for hoop camp. Thankful for everyone who participated in this challenge and of course special thanks to @philohagen for putting this together. Life changing challenges for the win. See you all at hoop camp!! β€œI completed 30 days of the 30/30 Hoop Love Challenge and I’m eligible for the Hoopcamp 2017 Registration Prize Drawing.#hooplah #challengeaccepted #hoopersofinstagram #hoopcamp

Congratulations everybody! Pretty amazing, right? I’m sooo super psyched to have hooped with all of you all month long, and honored that you joined me for all of this too. I know a lot of us had challenges on our challenge too and together we were able to accomplish things we couldn’t do alone. And even if we could, it simply wouldn’t be as much fun. You’ve all made me misty, for reals. Thanks for being a part of this incredible hoop love journey. You all freakin rock!

And who is the winner of our Hoopcamp 2017 registration grand prize? Hoopcamp, the biggest annual hooping event on the planet, is happening in August in the towering Northern California redwoods. We’ve got world renowned instructors coming to teach kickass classes for all levels, plus the legendary Sunshine Jones of Dubtribe Sound System is joining us for a special Solar Eclipse Closing HoopJam Live Performance! Hoopcamp is an experience not to be missed and one of you will be there attending the event on me. Who will it be? Let’s find out.

My lovely assistant Opal Hagen and I wrote all of the names down who completed the challenge, folded them up and put them in a bowl. Then I asked her to mix them up and do the honors.

Congratulations to our big prize winner, and congratulations to all of us for coming together this month to celebrate the hoop love. Each and every one of you is amazing and here’s hoping we get to see everyone spinning it up with us in the redwoods this summer too. Happy hooping everybody!
