The results of Hooping Idol 5: Science Fiction Week are in. Hooping.org congratulates all of our contenders that are moving on to the next round and we whole heartedly celebrate those who are departing the competition at this point. Who will be leaving us following Science Fiction Week and who will be moving forward to spin it up in our next challenge? It’s time for all of us to find out.
With 40% of the vote coming from our judges and 60% of the vote coming from all of you, we’ve got nothing but love for all of our contenders and would like to take this opportunity to really thank those who are going home this week for being a part of our exciting fifth season – and for making it so AWESOME! Thank you! We’d also like to thank our judges and all of our prize sponsors for their amazing generosity and community support – and without any further ado, it’s results time! Here’s Philo!
What’s next for our remaining Hooping Idol finalists? If you’ve seen our previous seasons of Hooping Idol, then you probably already know.
Yep, it’s Performance Week on Hooping Idol 5. Our final five will all be hooping to the same exact soundtrack and will all be sharing a single-shot unedited video of their performance. The challenge: perform in front of real live human beings, not just in front of a video camera. They’ll all be needing to find an audience of at least ten people to perform in front of or they’ll be creating one of their own. But wait, there’s more. There are a few more directives for Hooping Idol 5: Performance Week.
Those that hoop professionally know that you don’t always have any control over what music you’ll be performing too. Maybe you’ll be put on stage with a particular band or DJ. Maybe that wedding that hired you wants to see you hoop dance to their special song. Whatever the music ends up being, however, you gotta make it work! So to put a little extra spin of reality on it all, our finalists have been hired to perform at a big Spring Break celebration party in Miami Beach. And DJ Noodles knows exactly what that is all about.
The DJ and Producer that calls Miami home is at the top of the charts with his GDFR Remix of the Flo Rida track for the Furious7 Soundtrack. His remix of David Guetta’s “Hey Mama” featuring Nicki Minaj & Afrojack is out now too, and there’s another track that just hit and this one is entirely his own. Noodles knows you gotta bring it and burn it down – and that’s exactly what his new single Burn is all about, so strike a match Hooping Idol finalists! It’s the soundtrack for all of our performers this week.
Performance Week videos must be filmed from the perspective that the video camera is just another audience member, preferably one with a front row seat, so that whatever takes place in the video can be seen by all of us, just as if we were sitting right there in the audience with everyone else. We’ve given our final five extra performance tips and they’re ready to take the stage, so tune in next week for our most exciting Performance Week yet! Oh, and finalists – don’t forget to bring it this week because at the end of Performance Week two more of you will be going home, and three of you will be heading to our season finale! Happy hooping everybody!
