Weird Science

Okay brainiacs, it’s time for some weird science. I mean why just write your PhD when you can hoop dance it, right? That’s what we’ve always been saying and Sarah Wilk went ahead and did just that. Her research on Odd-Z Transactinide Compound Nucleus Reactions, including the discovery of 260Bh, studied pairs of heavy-element reactions to see if there was a better way to make these isotopes – and while this may end up being a little over your head, because it was mine, I have no doubt that this was the most fun and exciting PhD project turned in this year.
