While regular Hooping.org readers may be familiar with Chi Chi Revolver given that she’s been hooping for the past five years, you may not know that she has been performing with her father in circus shows since she was only three-years-old. She told The Argus, “When I was little I used to dress up as a dog and chase my dad who was a clown with a spider on a stick. I then did some work as a trapeze artist, but I’m a bit clumsy so I thought I would choose something a little safer so I turned to the hula hoop.” She and her father currently perform in Fred’s Flying Circus and she lives in Worthing, England, UK. Hooping.org congratulates Chi Chi on triumphantly spinning her way into the record books.
Chi Chi Revolver Sets a New Guinness World Record
Chi Chi Revolver has set a new Guinness World Record. She originally intended to set a new record for the longest time spent hula hooping upside down when Guinness contacted her to see if she would be interested in setting a new hoop record, but it was decided that she’d set a new world record for the highest number of hula hoop rotations while hanging upside down instead. How did she do? She spun up a record breaking 112. “I actually did sustained upside down hooping, and then they changed it last minute,” she told Hooping.org. “They took a minute from my sustained upside down hooping and counted the rotations. Now I have something to aim for and break next year too. Im sure if I tried I could do even more!”
