Do you have a hooping friend that you couldn’t imagine not hooping with? Have you always wanted to do something more high profile in the hooping community, but you didn’t want to do it alone? Then the time is now because Hooping.org has extended our deadline for casting week submissions for the second season of The Amazing Hoop Race. Yes, there’s still time for you to throw your hoops into the ring. Our Amazing Hoop Race contest presents teams of two with a series of revolutionary video challenges and while it’s not really a race at all, this year’s make believe hooping trip around the world (inspired by The Amazing Race TV show) is going to be a blast! Here’s some scenes from last year:

While hooping skills are always helpful, personality and creativity can play an even greater role in who will end up crossing that finish line and win our Amazing Hoop Race 2 prize package. What you need to compete is two people, two hoops and a video camera (or regular access to one) and it’s also helpful if one of the members of your team, or a friend, can edit. Once you’ve got the camera then all you need to do is shoot your casting week video submission and post it on YouTube with the headline “Amazing Hoop Race 2 Casting Week on Hooping.org”. Please be sure to include the following: 1) Tell us briefly about yourselves as individuals, 2) Tell us briefly about your hooping story together (how do you know one another? what is your relationship? etc), 3) Then show us a little bit of the town or city in which you live, and 4) Do it all in less than five minutes.
Casting week entries must be posted no later than 11:59pm PST on Friday on October 19th so that gives you this weekend and almost a week to get it done, so what are you waiting for? Our final teams will then participate in a series of challenges over the next few weeks and we’re looking for a diverse group of teams to play of all ages, shapes and sizes – and from all over the hoopersphere – so get in the race! On your mark, get set, and go call, text or email your friend now so you can get your casting week video together. It’s going to be an event the two of you won’t want to miss.
That’s nice if you have someone to hoop with. Not a single one of my friends is interested in hooping, and believe me, I’ve tried! Too bad for me and people like me, I guess.

I’m really excited to see this years teams! It was one of the most fun things I did last year! It was all about creativity and the best part was spending all that time with my good friend Danielle!! Definitely grab a buddy and go for it!!

I would encourage anyone with a hoop partner to join in. Geri and I had a Blast last year and we learned so much about each other. Watch out ! It will literary take over your lives for a few weeks as you transport yourselves to other parts of the world. It was the BEST thing we did last year without a doubt, We are STILL talking about our Hoop Race a year later.

I totally think anyone that has a hooping buddy needs to go for this! it’s a challenge, but SO rewarding…and addicting…and just flat out FUN!! Think of it like learning hooping ALL over again…take your moves step by step…this is the same way…just take each new challenge week to week…that’s what we did…and it’s so amazing to be part of something THIS CREATIVE!!! LOOKING BACK NOW, I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE OUR VIDEOS THAT DOCUMENT OUR “TRIP’ ALL OVER THE WORLD, TOO…were it not for this challenge, we NEVER would have gotten this crazy and creative…and I am super grateful to Philo & hooping.org for allowing us the chance! If you are sitting on the fence…STOP IT!!! GO for IT!!!! you only live once…what have you got to lose??? =) Good luck!!!
