Stacie Meredith Gets High On Hooping
When Stacie Meredith of Holy Hoop.com is lost in the rhythm of her hula hoop while dancing to music there is a high she cannot describe. “I drop into a flow and only hear the music,” she told The Reporter. “Something takes over my body. It’s a hooper’s high.” The Vacaville, California, resident discovered hooping by accident while working as a manager at a gym’s day care center. She started playing with the hula hoops and she hasn’t put them down since having lost 20 pounds spinning it up. “It wasn’t planned,” she explained. “But I realized my clothes started just slipping off. I’m smaller and more toned than I was in high school. I’m addicted. If I don’t do it, I get stiff. The hoop gets everything flowing and my flexibility and mobility has improved. It’s play,” she said. “It doesn’t feel like a workout.”
