It’s no secret that Beyoncé loves to hoop, but did you know that hooping is a Knowles family affair? Her younger sister Solange Knowles is also a hooper! Solange has followed in the footsteps of her older sister as both a singer and an actress with three #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Dance Club charts and a lead role in Bring It On: All or Nothing (also starring fellow hooper Hayden Panettiere). Solange is keeping busy, but not too busy to hoop!
Opening Ceremony, a clothing store founded on the concept that “the nations of the world battle it out on its racks for fashion domination”, recently launched a magazine by the same name called Opening Ceremony Annual. At the launch party for the new magazine, the sports theme of the inaugural issue was in full effect with celebrities swinging at a basketball shaped pinata. After a rhythmic gymnast provided entertainment for the party guests, Solange Knowles was inspired to challenge Opening Ceremony founder Humberto Leon to a hula hooping contest. Humberto may have won the trophy, but Solange was gracious in defeat and received a consolation trophy of her very own. Want to see the pics?
