It’s been over two years since we told you about the first research study done on hooping. Conducted by the American Council on Exercise, what we learned were a few things we already knew. The results confirmed that hooping rocks for fitness. As Jordan Holthusen, M.S., an exercise researcher with the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, said at the time, “Hooping is an excellent form of exercise. Before we did the study, I didn’t imagine the heart-rate averages would be so high. I was really impressed by how intense of a workout you can get hooping and how many calories you can burn.” Now ACE is following up that research with two new videos promoting hooping as an exercise option for both adults and children.
