The Hoopligans Have Greeley Spinning
Ask the Greeley, Colorado, trio who make up “The Hoopligans” about their favorite part of performing, and they all seem to agree that it’s when older ladies come up to them to say, “Oh my gosh, it’s back!” Yes, hula hoops are back and the trio “dance choreographed routines in wild costumes, perform tricks with names such as The Vortex and swish their hips to hoops that are on fire or glow in LED pink, purple or all the colors of a Christmas tree”. The three are in such demand, in fact, that they want to do hoop at least semi-professionally. Two sisters, Joy “Blissful Shadow” Watts, 23, and Sam, 20, have performed with Katara “Kataradactyl” Haagensen for a couple of years now. The Watts’ sisters started performing with Greeley’s belly dancing tribes and Joy had been hooping with Haagensen and they put two and two together. After coming up with a few dances they started booking gigs and now they’re looking for teach others as well, including fitness. “I lost 20 pounds doing this,” Haagensen told the Greeley Tribune, adding, “That wasn’t on purpose either, it was just a result of hooping.”

So blessed!!!! Thanks to everyone for all the support!
