Hoola-Fit Debuts on Deco Drive
On Deco Drive, a WSVN television program in Miami, Florida, the crew drop in on a hoop class taught by Abby Albaum of Hoola Monsters and her new venture Hoola-Fit to discuss the benefits of hoop fitness. “So what we do is called modern day hoop dance and that started to become more popular about a decade ago. It’s fun fitness so people enjoy it and that’s why it’s effective,” Abby explained. Fun is one thing what about results? She told them, “You can burn up to six hundred calories hoop dancing depending on what you do with the hoop. We do isolated movements that are really great for strength training, very good for your arms… We aim to do a full range of exercises. It’s building blocks. They constantly are adding more tools into their tool box so that they can develop a hoop dance practice, just like a yoga practice or pilates practice.
