30/30 New Year Hooping Challenge

Start Happy 2012 everybody! We wish you nothing but the very best in the new year and our 30/30 New Year Challenge is here, just in time to help us take off any unwanted extra holiday pounds and get our bodies, minds and spirits in better shape. Hooping helps us really connect with ourselves and with the 30/30 we’ll also be getting better connected with one another. Did you know it takes the human brain 21 days to develop a new habit? After a month of doing this together it should feel harder for us not take time out to hoop. And while it helps to do a new activity for at least 15 minutes, we’re doing 30 to take full advantage of the fitness aspects of hooping. While it can be helpful to hoop your 30 at the same time each day, even if we have to break it up into 5 or 10 minute increments we can all find a way to make it work in our schedules. Try not to put it off until the end of the day when you’re already tired though. Hooping time is important and we are meeting up, sharing our experience and supporting one another in our Daily Practice Group Forum. It’s a great place to share any tips, exercises, music and more that is inspiring you in your hoop practice as well. So are you ready to take the challenge? When you’ve hooped your 30 minutes share about your experience in our Daily Practice Forum. We’ll have a new thread to share in every day and we can help hold each other accountable. Let’s bring our best selves into the new year and with hooping we’ll have more energy and vitality to share.

And if that isn’t motivation enough, we’ve got a little extra incentive for you too. At the end of the challenge we will be randomly drawing the names of two lucky hoopers that have completed the full 30/30 challenge to win a prize. To be eligible you need to hoop for a total of 30 minutes during each day of the challenge and post about your practice for the day in the Daily Practice forum, checking in for each day of the challenge. It can be very brief or incredibly detailed if you feel like sharing. Together we can make things happen we could never do alone, so let’s go!
