I’ve heard a lot of people try hooping blind so you can feel what the hoop is doing. I’ve never thought to try it, although in my case, injuries abound, I’d suspect!
Try it! I think you will be suprised at what you can do without visual assistance. Even off body stuff and lifts and things, your body KNOWS how to do them, with or without sight. Sometimes I hit myself LESS when hooping blind.

i prefer to hoop blind actually, that way i’m not focussing more on what a state i look like but raher feel the hoop and the way i and it are moving
Not a fan of hooping blind, at all. It takes my hooping from big, expressive and joy-filled to tiny, confined monotonous little circles. This is especially true if I’m hooping in a group. I’m so concerned about hitting others or being hit that it sucks all the joy right out of it for me. I know lots of people find it very freeing, but it’s the exact opposite for me. To each his own!
