Goa Marriott Resort Gives Back For World Hoop Day

The Goa Marriott Resort & Spa in Goa, India, has a long standing reputation for celebrating World Hoop Day and this year was no exception. In India this year the World Hoop Day 2011 date was shared with Children’s Day and with the decision to celebrate both at the resort children from a local school were invited for the celebration. Associates had taken time out during the preceding week to not only hand make 35 hula hoops and decorate them with colorful glitter tape, they had also practiced enthusiastically to perform for the children and hotel guests. The morning of World Hoop Day the performance took place at breakfast before encouraging children and adults in attendance to give the hoop a spin for themselves.

A Team of Associates from the resort also visited Auxilium High School which caters to children from impoverished backgrounds. A second hoop dance performance was staged there, followed by a hooping workshop. Aftewards the 35 hoops were gifted to the school, much to the excitement and delight of the children.
