Work Abs and Obliques with Hula Hoop

They have so much fun with these tubular toys that they don’t even realize they’re working their midsection. Hula hoops work your abs, obliques, and hips.” Edward R. Laskowski, M.D. says, “In fact, any type of hula hooping, with a weighted hula hoop or a regular hula hoop, can help you meet your exercise goals.” They go on to instruct readers to be sure to choose a hoop that is the right size for their body, noting, “Check for the correct size by laying the tubular hoop vertically on the floor. It should touch somewhere in between your waist and chest. Contrary to what one may think, it is easier to hula hoop for longer when the hoop is larger and heavier.” The other options they list include bellydancing, the orbit and the stability ball.
