The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) made their official attempt at setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of people hula hooping at one time in multiple locations this weekend. One such location was Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, Maryland, a venue co-sponsored by the Maryland Area Naturist Association and the Chesapeake Pagan Community. Walter Green III told the Patch that there was only one rule involved for those who wanted to make history, “I guess you could say BYOH—bring your own hoop.” The nudists gathered in many U.S. locations to hoop it up precisely at 3pm, noting that “You don’t have to know how to hula-hoop to participate. Successful hula-hooping is not required to be part of the official count. Just join in and have fun.” In most locations nudity was not required and events were clothing optional. No word as yet whether they were successful in achieving their goal. The Hooping.org group associated with the event has 134 members.
