Hoopcamp is the largest annual gathering of hoopers in the world bringing our circle together for four days of classes, workshops and events that allow us literally and metaphorically to surround ourselves in the spirit of hooping. All energy moves into pockets and spins into a vortex that pulls in passion and pushes out flame. Even the smallest of visions when connected to a conduit, that is community, grows by the greatest of degrees in this current that shapes creative innovation and bold self-expression. All of us have found this portal and within this circular space we have fused connections from heart to body. Our movements have deepened and lengthened, each muscle framed around this rhythm. And once you have the beat, every fiber of your being embodies this energy that moves and dances with light, with fire and with grace, and all mysteries open to spirit. When you begin to settle into your core and move within this vortex you begin to feel the pull of the redwood ring inviting you each year to connect into the larger circle, to gather energy of the greatest whole.
With the theme this year being “The Spirit Dance: Hooping for Transcen ‘dance’”, Hooping.org and Hoopcamp have brought you a very special contest allowing one hooper to join that circle on us. Do you desire to explore and deepen your hoop dance and nurture your spirit at a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Retreat Center in the majestic Redwoods of Northern California? If the answer is yes you still have until midnight tonight PST to submit your approximately 3 minutes or less video capturing the theme of Hoopcamp 2011 – “The Spirit Dance”. We’ve invited you to show us how you’ve been moved, how you move others, what hooping does for your spirit, what keeps you coming back to your dance. Explore the deeper thread that connects, inspires and touches our incredibly vibrant hooping community, and once you’ve made your video all you will need is the YouTube or Vimeo url. Simply paste the url into the contest entries thread in our Hooping Videos Forum and our system will take care of embedding it for you. The winning entry will receive a camping pass to Hoopcamp 2011 (a $449 value) held September 22nd – 25th, 2011. This event sells out annually.
