Spring Renewal: Our 30/30 Challenge Returns

Renewal [Hooping.org columnist Rayna McInturf leads us again in deepening a daily hoop practice.]

by Rayna McInturf

A little structure, commitment and accountability to others in our lives can sometimes do us a world of good. So for those who have been wanting to know when Hooping.org’s 30/30 Challenge would return so you could do it again, and for those of you who encountered life obstacles in January that have been wanting the opportunity to give it another shot, I’m happy to report that the wait is over! The 30/30 Challenge returns tomorrow for the month of March, just in time for a Spring renewal in our lives. Beginning Tuesday, March 1st, and running through Wednesday, March 30th, by taking time each day to hoop for 30 minutes we are certain to have our bodies and spirits blooming. And for those who need even more motivation, we have another contest for you this time around as well!

While I will once again be posting additional support, tips, exercises, music, and more along the way, this time we will be doing so in Hooping.org’s new Daily Practice Forum, rather than in the main community. If you are up for this challenge, please post your commitment there so that we can help hold each other accountable. Remember, even if you have to break your 30 minutes up into 5 or 10 minute increments, find a way to make it work in your schedule. I encourage everyone to find or create some classes, workshops, hoop jams or events that you can immerse yourself in to make the most out of the next 30 days as well.

At the end of the challenge we will be having a drawing where two lucky hoopers will win a 6 MONTH MEMBERSHIP to Hooping University!! You’ll get to enjoy 6 months of online classes from some of the world’s top hooping instructors to take your hoop practice even further. Awesome!! To be eligible for the prize drawing, you must:

  1. Register by posting your intention to complete the challenge in this Daily Practice Forum thread.
  2. Hoop for a total of 30 minutes during each day of the challenge.
  3. Post about your practice for the day in Hooping.org’s Daily Practice Forum, checking in for each day of the challenge in the appropriately corresponding dated thread. It can be very brief, or more detailed if you feel like sharing πŸ™‚

At the end, all who completed the challenge will be entered into a random drawing and the winners will be announced. Good luck everyone!

Of course all who participate in Hooping.org’s second 30/30 Hooping Challenge will already be winners just for joining. Thirty days from now we’ll have developed or reinspired our very own hoop practice, we’ll look and feel better and we will have improved our overall health and well being, gaining more connection with our selves – and with each other. We can make it happen!! We can do so much more together and we are a powerful community, so let’s go! Join me in the challenge today!

  1. This is great! Those of us who have been active on “daily practice” in the last month have been having a blast sharing our successes & supporting one another. Many of us have agreed that it has felt like a “virtual hoop jam” and I’m really excited for more folks to join the party. Hoop on!!!!

  2. This comes at a great (and challenging) time for me, and I’m excited to recommit myself to daily practice. I took a couple of weeks off from daily hooping and cut down to 3 days a week which I was glad to have and desperately needed due to my schedule. However, I have gotten some much-needed R&R and feel like this is a perfect time to do another 30 days! Thanks, Rayna!

    1. The updates for the 30/30 need to go in the appropriately dated entry in the Daily Practice group, not here on the post. And nobody will be penalized for entering their Friday update late due to the service outage. Thanks!

  3. Drat. I was on holiday and so didn’t see this in time to join in. Last time I started late and it was hard working out where I was all the time, so I’m not going to do that this time.

Hope you all manage it. It’s fun.
