Paul this is fantastic! What a perfect documentation of progress. I absolutely love the dressing gown moment! I have so been there. And what improvement. The party is a great point too, and the kiss. You are the perfect example of what practice can do. And now we know just about every t-shirt you own.
Also, and you won’t realise this because you will take it for granted, but I think it was just about every day, the sun was shining. You get sunshine every day. You have no idea what it can do to your mood not to have that. For almost the entire 30/30 challenge it was grey here. Lowering cloud, no volume to the light. Electric lights on every day, all day. Today is actually sunny. About a first I think. Tomorrow when you wake and draw the curtains and see that sunshine, think of us poor Brits.
Well done again. I love this.

Sue, I agree about the sun! All I had was a little lamp in my hoop room…I had taken all the lightbulbs out of my ceiling fan for safety’s sake
So it was dim and grey.
Paul,
I love this video! I have watched it three or four times now and showed it to my better half! I love your progression through it. I know how darn near everyday you mentioned paddling in your journal entries and I thought, if I worked on the same technique every day for as long as you did I would go bonkers! Of course if I want to master more advanced moves I know I have to be more diligent like you. Did you really spend the entire practice every day paddling or did you devote part of the practices to other things as well? Also was there a particular tutorial you watched to learn the paddling?

Really excellent documentation of how perseverance pays. Absolutely charming and heart warming. And you totally got it!

What a great video! This is another one, like “Gotta Hoop” that just makes me happy to watch. It also makes me suspect that my next move to obsess over will be paddling.

@suewilkinson Thanks for your kind comments. I am indeed lucky to live in Asheville, where it doesn’t stay cloudy very long and heaven is a local phone call.
@loopdlu Frankly, the reason I focused on one move is because there isn’t enough room to do anything else. I go to the local YMCA a few times a week to practice bigger moves.
@monkeymooncalf Considering how many incredible hoop videos there are, I’m super-flattered.
To everyone else: Thank you for all the feedback. The 30/30 challenge was a lot of fun, and I’m happy I was able to share this experience with you.
