VIDEO OF THE DAY: A year ago this week Victoria had her baby. She writes, “When you are pregnant, you happily, willingly turn your body over to the miracle growing inside of you. Your body is no longer your own — it is now the vessel for the being inside of you to grow, thrive, become. … I am so very grateful to my body and in awe of it — to be able to grow a healthy baby, who I cannot imagine being without, then slowly coming back to me. My hoop has been my connection to myself since the birth of my child. It is where I connect with who I was and who I am before I was a mother. I am only me in my hoop. All the others-wife, mother, sister, etc- melt away or meld together until it is just me, hooping, dancing, reveling. Thank you body. Thank you hoop.” She lives in Birmingham, Alabama. Soundtrack: “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)” by Alicia Keys on iTunes).
Love you, girl!
WOW–you’re so graceful! Love your insight on mommy-hood vs. getting back to yourself.
Beautiful! I had my son a year ago and I still am feeling very disconnected from this new body. I recently started hooping. I hope I can use hooping to reconnect with myself the way you have.
Ah …. Victoria, Victoria!!
so very smooth and beautiful!
Beautiful dancing and beautiful words. Love your rhythmic syncopated flow and the sentiment about Self. The hoop can be such a great place to reconnect and recharge.
Good to see your vids again, Victoria! You look great, and your grace with the hoop is inspiring!
Wonderful! Thanks for your inspiration!
