Hoopies 2009: Rock The Vote

trophy Welcome to the 2008 Hoopies, Hooping.org’s second annual awards celebrating greatness in our hooping community. We’d like to remind everyone that if you’re a hooper you’re already a winner! Nominations for the 2008 Hoopies opened on Monday, January 5th, 2009, and closed on Friday, January 12th, 2009, at 9pm PST. Nomination proceedings were not only publicized on Hooping.org, but through our associated social network sites as well. Nearly a thousand nominations were submitted. The results were tabulated and your top six nominated finalists are presented here. Where there were ties, and there were several, you will find more than the customary six finalists presented. Winners of the 2008 Hoopie Awards will receive the 2008 Hoopies trophy. Our rules and voting ballot follow below:

trophy VOTING RULES: You may cast your votes once in a 24 hour period between now and Friday, January 16th, 2009, at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. This means you can vote as many as five times total, but no more than once per day. TAKE NOTE! With each ballot our voting system automatically logs your IP address, the unique Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. Exceeding the number of votes from your IP address within a 24 hour period will cause all votes from that IP address to be disqualified. For this reason if you don’t know if it has been a full 24 hours since your last vote, we’d advise not risking it. If you have other people who want to vote that share your computer at home or work we apologize for any difficulties this presents, but in our efforts to ensure fairness there can be no exceptions. Thank you for understanding.
Our 2007 Hoopie Award Winners are not eligible to win within the same voting category two years in a row. If you’re wondering why you’re not seeing a particular nomination this year, it might be that they won that award last year and weren’t eligible. Check the list.
To encourage more thoughtful voting, all of our nominees on the ballot are linked and clicking the purple links will open these web pages in a new window. If you’re not sure who we are talking about feel free to click the link to find out more, knowing that your voting page will not be disturbed. If video loading becomes too slow due to server overload please try again later. All of our hooping track nominated songs have been added to our Listening Station up top for you to check out as well. Hooping.org invites you to take time out to really explore the nominated videos, songs, groups and individuals this year. Without a doubt, it was an amazing year in the world of hooping! Your 2008 Hoopies winners will be announced on Monday, January 26th, 2008.
